Michigan state comes through with an offer Saturday.
Why do you post anonymously?
Why don't you print everybody's comments. Only positive. All opinions count, it's what makes the blog good.
Many out there, Rafko was the first one I thought of! Several from Monroe High (Cole, Wilson,Cooley, etc.) but I know we are talking Huron League. Congratulations to this young man and his family!
i'm stupid. It was Charles Chapman from Airport late 2000s.
Here's the link to the freep article:

He also just picked up a Nebraska offer. His impressive list continues to grow.
Hoover kid from Carleton (late 2000s) Indiana.
Jake Frysinger from Grosse Ile (mid 90's?) at Michigan.
Nick Rafko SMCC '89 Wisconsin and Ross Ivey SMCC '88 MSU. Not sure of full ride scholarships. Those were the two I was referring to.
Charlie Chapman from Airport. I believe he graduated 2009. He went Big Ten. He was on scholarship to Indiana University.
Milans Demetrius Barnes chosen to play in the MHSAA east west All-star game. Congrats kid

Were did u get this info from?
There is a nice article in today's Free Press about him.
Who were they? Played in the Big Ten I take it? Were they on Full-Rides? I wouldn't know anyone in the 80's that's why I'm asking.
I'm familiar with the kid from Monroe who went to N.C. State. and plays for the Vikings for example.
Heck, I played with 2 of them.
Not just D1 but many Power 5 as well.
I don't know of any Division 2 offers that were out there in the Huron League last year let alone Division 1. With the exception being the kid from Airport that had a few D-2 offers and 1-AA.
Chris am I wrong?
Yes I know there are some kids that have played in the MAC and what not. No one that I know of to play in the "so called" Power 5 on Full scholarship. Not referring to the 50's and 60's etc.
Many players in the Huron league have played division 1 football.
I believe he will be the first Power 5 kid in League History. Great publicity for the league with college coaches attending games. I know there have been some PWO's at places like Michigan. Eric Gunderson comes to mind.
While that looks great, I can't forget the numerous Division 1 offers that were out there last year for many seniors……
Very impressive.
