SMCC Falcons junior defensive end Brady Hines has been named the Friday Night Victors Defensive Player of the Year for 2024.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound standout anchored a dominant Falcons defense, leading the team to a Huron League Championship, a 13-1 overall record and a Division 7 state runner-up finish.
The Falcons gave up a paltry 10 ppg over the regular season and playoffs in what was the best Falcon defense since the 2014 State Championship season.
Hines recorded 80 tackles (32 solo, 48 assisted), 7 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 5 fumble recoveries in a stellar season.
FNV on Hines: Hines is a game changer on defense and opposing coaches knew that. You don’t have to look further than the State Championship game where Hines was consistently double and tripled teamed by Millington.
