The Riverview Pirates beat the Monroe Trojans 43-24, improving their record to 8-1.
Riverview led 36-8 at halftime, thanks in large part to Nathan Pinkava’s explosive performance. The senior accumulated 155 yards on 10 carries, scoring two rushing touchdowns (71 and 21 yards). He also hauled in a 26-yard touchdown reception from Lucas Thompson. Pinkava’s defensive efforts were equally impressive, as he recorded seven tackles and an interception.
Ashton Robinson spearheaded the Pirates’ rushing attack, erupting for 181 yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns (65, 22, and 31 yards). Jordan Smiechowski contributed 49 yards on the ground, complementing his defensive output of five tackles and two sacks.
Lucas Thompson efficiently directed the offense, completing two of five passes for 47 yards, including the touchdown strike to Pinkava. Thompson also connected with Robinson for a 21-yard gain.
The Pirates’ defense was relentless, with Braylon Orcher (11 tackles, two sacks) and Chris Sarnacki (10 tackles) leading the charge.
Monroe quarterback Collin Steele went 10-18 for 170 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Riverview’s potent offense. Jullian Espinoza scored a rushing touchdown and finished with 15 yards on five carries.
Riverview finished the regular season 8-1 while Monroe dropped to 2-7.
