Nestled in downtown Monroe, The Dive Bar—previously known as Kelly’s and Bob’s Bar—brings fresh energy to a familiar spot, serving up some of the best burgers in town with a creative twist. This unpretentious gem retains the laid-back atmosphere of its predecessors, but it’s the food that truly sets it apart.
Both Jeff and Gary tried the Dive Burger, and it’s no exaggeration to say it’s one of the best burgers in Monroe. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and loaded with flavor, this burger delivers everything you’d want from a classic, comfort-food staple. The Dive Burger is straightforward but done to perfection, hitting all the right notes. Jeff was noted as saying “This burger really puts a wrinkle in my shower cap”. Stated with exclamation, he announced, “Best burger in Monroe thus far”.
Chris chose the PBB Burger, which is a Peanut Butter Bacon Burger. “It was delicious, easily one of the best burgers I have had in my many years” Chris stated. “It’s a limited menu item, but certainly worth making a special trip down there before it disappears from the menu. They have a solid cocktail menu, for those who choose. I had a nice Templeton Rye Manhattan that was served exactly the way I like (because our server was nice enough to ask)”.
On the more adventurous side, Derek ordered the That’s My Jam Burger, which features a bold jalapeño jam. The combination of sweet and spicy made this burger not only unique but also delicious. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking to branch out from the traditional without straying too far from classic burger satisfaction. Derek, often understated, couldn’t hold in his exuberance, “That’s my jam, is my jam”.
Behind these mouthwatering creations is “Beans”, the culinary wizard at The Dive Bar. Known for whipping up off-the-wall, weekly temptations, Beans brings a creative flair to the kitchen that keeps regulars excited to see what’s next. Each week, you can expect something new, flavorful, and maybe even a little daring—but always delicious.
Whether you’re a fan of classic burgers or seeking something more unique, The Dive Bar in Monroe has something to offer. It’s the perfect spot to grab a casual meal with friends and enjoy some of the best food the city has to offer, all thanks to Beans and the crew.
Note from Gary: this place really is different. Not many places go out on a limb, creating rarely seen burgers and delights. The menu isn’t large, but what they offer is excellent. I highly recommend The Dive Bar for a burger and a cold beer.

Full Moon-Nachos and corned beef sandwich/rueben are favorites there. Plus they have great daily specials.
