Week 2: Our Thoughts, Not Yours

By Chris Schultz and Frank Vajcner

Each week, Chris and Frank will give their thoughts on our blog teams. For the most part, one will generally keep things on the rails, while the other goes a little off the wall.

Airport

Chris: The Jets have arguably the toughest first 4 week schedule in the state.

Frank: Same song, different verse for the Jets.

Bedford

Chris: Nice Job by the Kicking Mules leaving no doubt in a game they should win.

Frank: It took until Week 5 to reach 48 points on the season last year. Safe to say there is marked improvement.

Carlson

Chris: Ho-hum

Frank: It’s not just Izaiah Wright you have to worry about.

Dundee

Chris: It’s all in who you play from one week to the next.

Frank: Not sure if that was Joey Brink or Al Bundy running wild last night.

Erie Mason

Chris: It’s all in who you play from one week to the next.

Frank: Make that 34 straight losses to LCAA opponents.

Flat Rock

Chris: I’m not sure which is better, the Ram defense or offense.

Frank: Graham Junge cooked up another 50-burger. It won’t be the last one.

Grosse Ile

Chris: Crazy things happen on the “island” wait…..will that even apply this year?

Frank: Where has all the even-year magic gone?

Huron

Chris: The Chiefs are better than their record indicates

Frank: The Chiefs will get things going.

Ida

Chris: I would call that the Bluestreaks biggest win since September 2021

Frank: I told you Ida’s defense had another gear. A win next week, and the Blue Streaks might be considered special.

Jefferson

Chris: I’m not sure where the wins are going to come from.

Frank: Better days are ahead for Da Bears.

Milan

Chris: Got to take the wins when you can get them

Frank: Offense wakes up for the Big Reds.

Monroe

Chris: Very classy of Monroe to honor our veterans on Friday

Frank: Time to hit the panic button?

Riverview

Chris: Riverview is good, but are the champions the Huron League Favorites in 2024?

Frank: Did they serve double cheeseburgers at Riverview on Friday?

SMCC

Chris: Yes, the Falcons are a betting favorite to get to Ford Field/

Frank: When was the last time the Falcons had five different players score in a game? Offensive depth is never a bad thing.

Summerfield

Chris: I can’t remember the last time I missed picking a Summerfield game

Frank: A tale to two halves.

Whiteford

Chris: Don’t sleep on the Bobcats

Frank: now we will see how the Bobcats respond after a loss.

Frank’s Extra Thoughts

I wrote all of this from the west side of Michigan, as I got to officiate a couple of games out here.

I have to give a shout out to Harper Creek for taking care of my brothers in stripes

How many more commercials will we see Dan Campbell in?

Super Bowl or Bust!!!

Chris Extra Thought

Thanks for the photo Heather. I hope you don’t mind.

    1. Downriver rat trap

Dont think you might hurt yourself..defense looks great when u are not tested. Offense looks real good against teams that barely fill the positions

  1. Frank, I don’t think they had the double cheeseburgers, but they did have pizza rolls. I hear the pizza rolls were good.
On another note, I think Flat Rock, CC, and Riverview are definitely gonna be some great games when they play one another.
I think it’s those three at the top, and the rest of the Huron league somewhere after that.
