The Summerfield Bulldogs secured a hard-fought 20-14 victory over the Whiteford Bobcats in Ottawa Lake on Friday.
The Bulldogs’ ground game was led by Mitchell Gomulinski, who rushed for 101 yards on 21 carries and scored a crucial touchdown. Quarterback Trace Secor added two passing touchdowns, completing 10 of 21 attempts for 161 yards.
The receiving corps was paced by Tyler Dafoe, who hauled in four receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown. Eli VanHuysen also contributed a touchdown catch.
On defense, Summerfield was stellar, with Jude Flowers leading the charge with 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. Brenden Myshock added 11 tackles, a sack, and two quarterback hurries.
Gabe Ostrosky made several key plays, including an interception, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery.
With the victory, the Dawgs improved to 4-1 on the season and will travel to Pioneer North Central while Whiteford will host Erie Mason.
