The Flat Rock Rams secured a convincing 35-14 victory over the Airport Jets in Carleton, fueled by quarterback Junge’s impressive four-touchdown performance. Junge threw for 167 yards, connecting with E. Szalay, Dwyer, and Crump for scores, despite tossing three interceptions.
The Rams’ rushing attack was equally potent, with Jacob Hagan and Ben Scully both surpassing the 100-yard mark. Hagan’s standout runs included a 39-yard dash and a 60-yard sprint, showcasing his speed and agility.
Airport Jets’ coach Derek Anderson’s team struggled to contain Flat Rock’s offense, but Tyler Carroll’s 115 yards on nine carries and scores from Patrick Murphy and Jordan Fields provided some highlights. Ayden Stahr shone defensively for the Jets, snagging two interceptions.
Despite the loss, Coach Anderson acknowledged the team’s potential but emphasized the need for leadership and mental toughness. “We made too many mental mistakes and struggled to finish. We’re looking for someone to step up and be a leader,” he noted.
The Rams’ victory improves them to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Jefferson next week.
Airport’s brutal schedule continues as they host undefeated SMCC next week at Mc Cormick Field.
