The SMCC Falcons spoiled Airport’s homecoming festivities on Friday night, dominating the Jets 28-0 in a Huron League matchup. Quarterback Ian Foster led the charge, tossing two touchdown passes to Joel Treece and rushing for two more scores.
SMCC’s balanced rushing attack proved unstoppable, with Brady Hines (66 yards), Drew Harris (63 yards), and Cole Reinhardt (41 yards) all contributing. Harris also nailed all four of his extra-point attempts.
The Falcons’ offensive line, comprised of Max Flint, Jimmy Rostash, Grant Lewis, Trey Worrell, Jon Marc LaVanway, Chris Clarke, Joel Treece, and Bret Stark, paved the way with physical blocking.
On defense, SMCC pitched its second consecutive shutout, with Brock Cousino (10 tackles) and Jack Starner (8 tackles) leading the charge. Brady Hines, Andrew Beggs, Anthony Caladino, and Foster also made key plays.
“We played well in all three facets of the game,” said coach Kipf. “Our line played physical up front, and our defense kept Airport out of the end zone when it mattered.”
The Falcons return home to Navarre Field next Friday for their own Homecoming game against Milan (2-2).
Tell Coach to start running #26 on jet sweeps. Get the ball to our speed guys on the outside. This game should of never been this close.
it wasn’t ever this close, CC just decided to be nice.
I wouldn’t necessarily say that.
Airport did some good things.
On the other side of that, nobody wants to be on the wrong side of a blowout.
Never a need to embarrass anyone or any team.
I’m not saying SMCC let off the gas at all, I’m just saying, you dont need to win by 50.
lol k
