  1. Old HL Fan here went to Airport to see the hype on Carlson. Looks like it is justified. The tailback is everything they say he is, anbd he’s not the only legit college prospect on that team. The tight end #8 is a monster big and fast and athletic and #3 on defense is an animal too.
off topic the people who voted down the bond in Airport (i know its probably not sports fans that read this) should be ashamed of themselves. the stadium is not capable of hosting big games Carlson really loves their football apparently it looked like their whole school was there in their student section and the bleachers couldn’t hold them.
field is ok but can’t hear the PA guy, lighting not great and no bathrooms

  2. Poor performance by Riverview tonight. They need to step it up big time going forward. They have way too much talent to accept this as a standard

    1. 38-0 at halftime in a game where the 1’s were done by halftime. What were they supposed to do, leave them in the entire game and win 76-0?

  3. Good win for the Falcons! Are the Falcon faithful yelling for the T to come back or are they enjoying this new power spread look?

Is Carlson that good or Airport just that young?

    1. Great question! If they can’t figure out this new system they need to bring the T back. I know it didn’t matter last night but time of possession was a huge difference. SMCC defense had to be tired after spending 75% of the game on the field (maybe exaggerated a little). Harris is a darn good back but didn’t see much of Hines, Linzell, or Cousino in the backfield. Maybe tired from defense?

      1. CC has a lot of backs. I assume Kipf was trying to keep as many going one way as possible.
Cramping was an issue. Clinton did control the clock with the T, and it did look like the D was gassed a bit.

      2. you people crack me up, everyone hates the T. Its too old, its not wide open enough, its boring. Then SMCC wins and you want the T back.

        1. No one is saying they want the T Back, I think the new look is great. Do I think mixing the T in would be a bad idea with a group of kids who have played IN GAME and practiced in that offense from grades 9-12? Absolutely not. It’s also the first game of the season nor were the falcons never not in control of the game last night. We haven’t seen the entire playbook. They will be fine, Foster will get comfortable letting the ball go once he gets settled into the offense which will come with time as he wasn’t bread to be a passing quarterback. It’s a new offense practice reps do not emulate game reps they will get settled in just give it time.

        2. It’s not that we want the T BACk. When it’s 4th and a yard we should get back under center. With the backs we have this year no way we get stopped like we did last night. Kipf needs to be creative. Kipf has speed guys and didn’t use him once to the outside. Get the ball to your speed guys on screens. This game really wasn’t that close.

      3. I think as the season progresses, you might see them switch from the T to split gun wing depending on game scenario and opponent. hard to believe they throw away the T given its prominence in the development of a lot of kids in the program. usually if kipf likes what sees he keeps using it… could have been the case thursday

  4. It’s not in your coverage area, but I’m sure some care to know. Trenton falls to Southgate 27-26 at Wayne State. Southgate was down and put on a well orchestrated drive to school the go ahead score with :12 left on the clock. Trenton’s attempt to air it out lead to an interception and that player was tackled as time ran out. Coach Bobby Marten put a great game together and his players did a very good job of executing.
