The Bears are coming off a season of growth and renewal. A hand full of very good seniors graduated and will be replaced by a youth movement, under 2nd year Head Coach Rob Beaudrie. Jefferson will look to continue building their budding program. This is a process Coach Beaudrie has been successful with in the past. In 2024, we should see another step forward, in what I see, as a very bright future in the years to come.
Last 10 seasons: Record 20-71, Playoff Record 0-2
ASSISTANT COACHES: Tanner Herrera, Kyle Hall, Cole Jennings, Tristin Panza, Jeff Pitock, Larry Dorow, Ken Woiderski.
IMPACT PLAYERS
1.** Luke Beaudrie**, 5-8, 160, Sophomore, QB/S: Luke is the key to our offense, extremely high football IQ, and his speed and agility makes him hard to contain. Last season had 16 TD’s on 1,163 rushing yards and 677 through the air as a freshman.
2. **Bret Gennoe**, 6-0, 185, Sophomore, LB/RB. Bret is tough as they come, extremely aggressive. He is coming off a season ending injury from game 2 last year and very determined to make up for missing a year. He is the heart of our defense.
3. **Caiden Pfeiffer**, 6-4, 235, Junior, LT/DE: Caiden has had an unbelievable off-season, he has added size and speed to his already big frame and will be a force on both sides of the ball.
4. **Gage “Gabby” Carter**, 5-10, 155, Junior, WR/LB. Gabby is the biggest surprise for us heading into this season. He put a lot of time into his off-season training and will be a big-time player for us.
5. **Karson Petit**, 5-10, 170, Junior, WR/LB. We are really excited about his potential; he will be a huge part of our offense this season.
RETURNING STARTERS
Offense: Luke Beaudrie (QB), Logan Godlewski (OL), Devan Early (OL), Caiden Pfeiffer (OL), Karson Petit (WR), Bret Gennoe (RB), Caiden Ethridge (WR)
Defense: Luke Beaudrie (S), Caiden Pfeiffer (DE), Trevor Stamper (DL), Karson Petit (LB), Lincoln Tulik (DB), Hunter Kress (LB), Bret Gennoe (LB)
COACH’S OUTLOOK
Offense: We will look to keep building on the foundation with our young guys who got tons of experience last season. Our goal is to get better every week and control what we can control. Without any seniors this season is something people would think is a negative, we do not look as a negative, but an opportunity to build a stronger leadership for this program over the next few years.
Defense: Just like our offense, our boys got tons of experience last season and now a year older they are bigger, faster, and stronger. We have made some changes on the defensive side of the ball, plus with Gennoe back, we are looking for a much-improved defense.
COACH’S THOUGHTS ON THE LEAGUE
“The league will be exceptionally good once again from top to bottom, it is any given night in this league. Riverview is the team to beat, they are the top team.”
COACH’S FINAL WORD
“I am excited about the type of football team this group has become, they see the future and they believe in the system. They all have worked extremely hard this off-season and have made some demanding decisions to become a better player and teammate. We all are looking forward to an incredibly fun and exciting year.”
FNV OUTLOOK
This will be a very interesting season for the Bears. The players come in this year, with a year of their system under their belts. Wins and losses often determine success, however, can Jefferson win enough games to see this season as successful? This is the big question. The Huron League is relentless on teams trying to build momentum. I do know one thing, Coach Beaudrie will stay the course. Head up, eyes forward. Stay true to the process. Skip no steps. The Bears are coming.
Bears just have the kids now, enrollment is down big time. I think Jefferson might be Div 6 now. If they make the playoffs they might do some damage. If Jefferson had the schedule that Smcc has they would win 6 games.
LOL
You’re kidding right? You think Hanover Horton and Melvindale are superior to Country day and Clinton? I think the bears will improve, but the damage probably won’t come for another year or two. That was a very young team out there last year.
Listen to me when I say this, the bears are going to be 2-7 at best or 1-8. You can’t rely on sophomores to win games in the Huron league. This is not the TCC. Again the best the bears will be is 2-7 with no Huron league wins.
That’s what they thought of the 2022 Flatrock rams team. They didn’t do so bad in 2022. Have a great season Bears
Would you be willing to put your money where your mouth is?
I think they have a shot against Grosse Ile and Milan. I know it’s an even year but Grosse Ile seems to be down and Milan is a large question mark this season
