Our Thoughts, Not Yours 11/19/23 Edition

By Chris Schultz and Frank Vajcner

Each week Frank Vajcner and Chris Schultz share their thoughts. Frank is usually serious, Chris not so much.

Chris

Certainly happy that one of our FNV teams made it to Ford Field in 2023.

Speed kills! I have been talking about team speed all season. Go get you some!

Todd Thieken must sleep well at night or not at all because he is burning the midnight oil.

GRCC will be favored, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Corunna beats them.

I plan on taking a trip to Ford Field this week.

State stinks!

Cheatburger anyone?

Forward Down the Field!

Frank

The last week of the season is here, but so is Week 0 of basketball for a lot of schools.

No big surprises in Divisions 1 and 2 on Saturday. Of course, maybe we should have considered that Belleville is a wagon. So is Muskegon.

Zeeland West was a swing and a miss for me. But the Dux might be my pet team from the west side of the state.

Will people in Carleton be cheering for Harper Woods?

Side note: I will be in Carleton on Monday for a basketball scrimmage.

Corunna was just the better team. But Flat Rock isn’t going away anytime soon.

This might sound like sour grapes, but Ida could have been in the semis had they beaten Ovid-Elsie. (Probably would not have beaten Almont though).

U P Power won’t be enough to stop the wagon that is Lumen Christi.

Watching the game at Adrian College, I felt that Jake Iott took things personally.

I will be at Ford Field for the rematch in Division 8.

Still not happy about the finals being on Saturday and Sunday (thanks, Kevin Warren!)

Spartans at least show some pride. I still want a certain 3-time national champion coach turned analyst to take the job (Alan Haller, take the hint.)

#OnePride

I think we should all give thanks this week for another fun season.
