  1. Negative….. they will beat Jefferson and they will beat Detroit Country Day and get into the playoffs at 4-5. Now, with that said, if they were in the TCC or the LCAA playing schools more their size they would be winning those conferences or at least taking Whiteford or Ida down to the wire. So join the TCC or LCAA and win 90% – 100% of your game and blast into the playoffs every year or stay in the Huron League and play schools two and three times your size and get ready for the playoffs at 3-6 or 4-5 in your down years to compete against teams your size. The numbers don’t lie and the point system is fair. Get over it.. haters are going to hate..

  2. Wow, Jefferson pulled it out. Anyone that’s played them and saw the age of the guys out there, they are basically a JV age team playing varsity. They could build something in the coming years. Beaudrie is one heck of an athlete at qb. Jefferson was once a pretty solid program.

  3. I know this blog doesn’t focus much on the downriver league but the isiah wright kid from Carlson is something special. Faster than Adams from Riverview and weighs 205 lbs. special kid over there. Only a sophomore too. He will be a downriver legend by the time he’s done… for those who have been around long enough, think Fred Russell from Romulus, Chester Taylor rouge, that kind of player.

    1. 2 of the best ever in the state. Both made it to the league. Kid has a long way to go, but definitely has a sky high ceiling. Only time will tell.

  4. Former airport semi good player

Seems that here on out this blog is going to focus on how Monroe does and if they can make playoffs or not…Huron league seems pretty ho hum…gonna end up a 3 way tie, 3 good teams then rest of the league…cc summerfield and ida remain intersting but outside those small things just waiting on the playoffs to see who can do something

    1. Best screen name ever but I think this blog does a good job spreading out coverage and not just focusing on Monroe. This might be the first time I have ever seen someone say the blog focuses on Monroe lol. Its been an unpredictable year for the Huron League but fun to follow. SMCC is a coin flip every week on what team we will see, Summerfield has been a pleasant surprise, and Ida is doing what they always do which is get better every week and peak at the end of the season. The next 3 weeks have some exciting games on tap. Thank you coaches for all the sacrifices you make and to the players who give us something to look forward to every week!

  5. Bears prove the doubters wrong. Nice road league win but next week is a much harder opponent. They should however beat Melvindale week 9 and have a chance at home against SMCC week 8. Beaudrie’s first rematch against a former team that he coached didn’t go so well but the Bears have improved tremendously since week 1.

    1. Bear Alumni-
No doubt next week will be tough but I can totally see an upset week 8 versus our rivals at home. We handed it to Grosse Ile tonight who dominated SMCC. SMCC’s weakness is their offensive and defensive lines. If we played like we did tonight, we are going to shock Monroe County! Its a great day to be a Bear!!

      1. How did Jefferson “hand it” to Grosse Ile? Devils had 6 turnovers last night, no Pizzo, no Rush, and a first time RB playing. All that and they still barely scraped a win against them (with some poor officiating)

Congrats on the one and only win in the Beaudrie era, but in no way did Jefferson “hand it” to Grosse Ile.

        1. Making excuses like that is so weak. At least be honest about it. After going down two scores in the first quarter you guys put Pizzo in on defense. Good thing because Jefferson would have put up a 50 burger on you guys. He also played running back in the second half. Maybe he wasn’t 💯 but he played the majority of the game and was effective. Just face it the bears made more plays when it counted.

          1. No excuses at all. Matt logged less than 20 snaps in the game Friday, 10 of those one offense. 20 snaps isn’t “a majority of the game”

Must not teach math down at Jefferson.

      2. Congrats on your win. However this is the Huron to finish 4th is an accomplishment. You guys have a long road ahead. Period. You can have great coaching but with limited talent and depth you don’t have a chance. Look at Huron.

    2. Jefferson was once a very good program. When I saw that roster and who was out there, I realized that they are a JV team with a few seniors sprinkled in, very young team for varsity. Maybe they’ll be able to build something and become the type of program they used to be in the 80’s and 90’s. #2 can really play and he’s just a freshmen and the guys play hard even when they’re down pretty bad. Nice job guys and congratulations.

      1. Jefferson was a juggernaut in the 90’s. No one wanted to play them. The most physical high school program I’ve played against.

  6. Trojans gonna need a miracle, just turned it over on downs with 1:26 to go and Monroe already burned timeouts on special teams issues, crushing loss. 27-20 with 1:14 to go, if I don’t post again consider it final.

    1. Wow. After almost Beating Saline, they lost to a team Saline beat 56-0. Now they need to beat riverview or dexter to have a good chance at the playoffs

  7. Negative….. they will beat Jefferson and they will beat Detroit Country Day and get into the playoffs at 4-5. Now, with that said, if they were in the TCC or the LCAA playing schools more their size they would be winning those conferences or at least taking Whiteford or Ida down to the wire. 1. To your point they aren’t good for the Huron League

Bigger schools in the league don’t playing down divisions don’t benefit

      Country day will spank SMCC

Numbers don’t lie- but calculations / formulas wrong

  8. Really smcc beautiful parade I watched it all the way through and then to come on here and see the score gosh darn come on boys….m

    1. Another Score for Clinton on 22 yard run by Nik Shadley, and he runs in 2XP. 14 to 0 Red Wolves in Q2.

And Clinton gets ball back on an interception. They quickly pound away for another TD. Now 22 to 0.

        1. Clinton quickly replys with another TD run with 2:55 left in Q2. Now 30 to 6.

The power just went out with about 1 minute to go. With the Homecoming ceremonies to come at Halftime, this is not something the Athletic Director needed to have happen now.

          1. I was just texted that they are now back under the lights in Clinton, and that Dundee scored to make it 30 to 14, in favor of Clinton. No other details, sorry.

          2. Clinton responds with another TD drive, 38 to 14 with about 2 minutes left in Q3 (due to the delay for power outage).

          3. Clinton puts the exclamation point on this game with another TD by Cole Breightenwischer. 46 to 20 RedWolves with 3 minutes to go in the game.

      1. Wild last few minutes. Clinton scores on a long TD run,, then Dundee ran the kickoff back to the 5 yard line, and then punched it in. 54 to 33 with 1 minute left.

That ended up being the final score to the RedWolves Homecoming victory.

    1. I think the grosseo Jefferson score is going to be minus a hell of a lot more than that but other than that I agree with you bookie
