Each week, I will go through the box scores of all of our teams and pick four players whom I will turn to you, the people, to determine our Player of the Week. Go over to our twitter page to vote: @FNVictors
There are a lot of choices in a given week, so narrowing them down to four is a challenge in itself. If you have anyone in particular to nominate, hit me up on Twitter (that will actually help me out more, as my Friday nights are busy with officiating).
You can then vote in our Twitter poll to determine the final outcome.
Without further ado…
Cole Kreger, RB/LB, Erie Mason: The Eagles turned to their ground game in a 40-16 win over Summerfield, and it was Kreger who paid dividends. The senior carried the ball 33 times for 165 yards and four touchdowns. He also opened up the scoring with a 53-yard interception return for a score to hand Summerfield their first loss of the season.
Brennan Caldwell, RB, Huron: Injuries forced the Chiefs to shuffle their skill positions, moving Caldwell to running back. Coach Tom Hoover might want to keep him there after the senior rang up 193 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, and also added a 34-yard catch in a 42-26 win over Jefferson.
Dean Thomas, RB, Ida: With the Blue Streaks facing a must-win to stay in the playoff hunt, Thomas delivered a breakout performance with 174 rushing yards and three scores on 31 carries as Ida shook off an early deficit to defeat Hillsdale 28-6 to end a three-game skid.
Riverview Offensive Line: Thanks to run b center Garrett Timmerman, guards Gavin Labadie and Jake Anderson, tackles Braedyn Evans and Joe Avouris, as well as the tight end trio of Braylon Orcher, Chris Sarnacki, and Darian Stuck, Riverview rang up 360 rushing yards on 45 attempts (8 yards per carry) and five touchdowns as the Pirates knocked off previously unbeaten Flat Rock 36-34.
Honorable Mention: Izaiah Wright, RB, Carlson; Ryan Zanger, QB, Dundee; Zak VanBuskirk, LB, Airport; Luke Beaudrie, QB, Jefferson; Braiden Whitaker, WR, Dundee
monroe defensive line!!! they have some absolute dawgs out there. especially #68 breylon richards. the other defensive end #27 has played pretty well also.
Pretty soon it’ll be all Riverview people on here talking to each other…
No doubt, they should include the head referee. He played great for riverview too. 😂😂
Truth. Excuses.
Yeah because Riverview never makes excuses.
Riverview Team is looking good this year.
Riverview Linemen!!
Riverview lineman.
I vote for the Riverview linemen. Just amazing to watch, I never miss a game.
The Riverview Lineman have been doing a great job all year
Riverview linemen, only way they could be stopped was by kicking onside kicks and recovering them. If not for the two onside kicks, Riverview may have rang up almost 500 yards rushing.
Lot of IFs come from Riverview.
Riverview linemen
Agree, Riverview line.
Till View plays allen park round 1
They are in different divisions.
Unless Riverview suddenly adds another 400 kids to their enrollment, no they won’t be playing Allen Park.
Would seem unfair to play Allen Park.
