Traveling to Ottawa Lake, we will close with the defending State Champion Whiteford Bobcats.
Biggest Reason for Hope: Offensive Skill Players. Despite graduating the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes in Shea Ruddy, there will be a strong supporting cast to help a new quarterback transition into starting. One thousand-yard rusher’s Jake Iott and Hunter DeBarr are entering their senior campaigns and will look to be in the thick of the Player of the Year races. Whiteford also returns their top three receivers in Ryan Ruddy, Kolby Masserant, and DeBarr.
Biggest Reason for Concern: The Trenches. The Bobcat offensive line helped pave the way for over 4300 yards rushing as a team last season. Four starters graduated from the group, leaving Jack Iott as the lone returning starter there. How quickly can a new-look group come together and continue to produce at a high level?
Haven’t donated? That’s okay, we’re good. a little something would be nice though.
