Each week, I will go through the box scores of all of our teams and pick four players whom I will turn to you, the people, to determine our HH Designs Player of the Week.
There are a lot of choices in a given week, so narrowing them down to four is a challenge in itself. If you have anyone in particular to nominate, hit me up on Twitter. That will actually help me out, as my Friday nights are busy with officiating.
You can then vote in our Twitter poll @FNVictors to determine the final outcome.
Without further ado…
Connor Dessellier, WR, Milan: Dessellier turned in a big performance to get the Big Reds back on the winning track, as he hauled in five passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns in Milan’s 48-28 win over Jefferson.
Graham Junge, QB, Flat Rock: The sophomore QB went 21-for-26 for 236 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 37 yards and a score as the Rams defeated Grosse Ile 28-0.
Bedford Kicking Mule Defense: Knocking off a top-ten team in Division 1 is one thing, but shutting out said team is on another level. The Mules’ defense turned in a virtuoso performance, as they held Saline to 156 total yards of offense, and made life miserable for Hornet QB CJ Carr in a 7-0 win. This also ended Saline’s 50-game winning streak in the SEC Red
Shea Ruddy, QB, Whiteford: Ruddy continued to rewrite the Whiteford history books in a 66-7 win over Kalamazoo Loy Norrix. The senior threw for 219 yards and 5 touchdowns, which broke the Bobcats’ single game record, as well as the career records for total completions and total offense.
Honorable Mention: Omari Carter, RB, Carlson; Hunter DeBarr, RB, Whiteford; Ryin Ruddy, TE, Whiteford, Brandon Thompson, RB, Summerfield, Brandon Scheffler, WR, Carlson; Ronny Johnson, RB, Milan; Eddie Light, QB, Carlson; Anthony Bowman, RB, Riverview; Gavin Moczydlowsky, QB, Huron; Martre Pearson, RB, Jefferson
Gotta give credit where credit is due…Bedford defense hands down!!! It’s absolutely amazing they were able to beat Saline let alone shut them out!
