The voting is in and Max Lockhart of Riverview is this week’s HH Designs Player of the Week. Lockhart received 325 votes (47%) of the 690 votes that were cast. The junior rushed 10 times for 162 yards, and two scores. He also added 4 tackles and a TFL on defense as the Pirates defeated Flat Rock 36-15.

It’s nothing more than a popularity contest
I see it as bringing to light the accomplishments of student athletes on the football field.
Many players have been highlighted. I think that is more than a popularity contest.
We understand that larger schools have the advantage in voting. But does it really matter?
Each week a handful of players get recognition. Thumbs up in my book.
