Week 4 Player of the Week Nominees

By Frank Vajcner

Each week, I will go through the box scores of all of our teams and pick four players whom I will turn to you, the people, to determine our Player of the Week.

There are a lot of choices in a given week, so narrowing them down to four is a challenge in itself. If you have anyone in particular to nominate, hit me up on Twitter. That will actually help me out, as my Friday nights are busy with officiating.

You can then vote in our Twitter poll to determine the final outcome. @fnvictors

Without further ado…

Jack Mills, RB, Airport: Mills put the Jets on his back in a 41-34 win over Grosse Ile. The junior carried the ball 32 times for 217 yards and four TDs. He also caught two passes for 32 yards, one of which kept a drive where the go-ahead touchdown was scored.

Ryan Zanger, QB, Dundee: The sophomore QB turned in a breakout performance on homecoming for the Vikings. Zanger threw for 273 yards and four TDs, and also ran for a touchdown in Dundee’s 36-6 rout of Onsted.

Vaughn Brown, QB, Erie Mason: Brown threw for 354 yards and three TDs, and also ran for a score, as Erie Mason defeated Summerfield 40-24.

Max Lockhart, RB/LB, Riverview: One week after teammate Jacob Shank took home the honor, Lockhart threw his hat into the ring. The junior rushed 10 times for 162 yards, and two scores. He also added 4 tackles and a TFL on defense as the Pirates defeated Flat Rock 36-15.

Honorable Mention: Trey Bruggeman, RB/LB, Jake Iott, RB/LB, Whiteford; Bedford; Korbin Herrera, WR, Erie Mason; Jacob Shank, RB, Riverview; Braiden Whitaker, WR, Dundee; Omari Carter, RB, Carlson; Izaiah Wright, RB, Carlson; Hunter DeBarr, RB, Whiteford, Gavin Moczydlowsky, QB, Huron, SMCC Offensive Line

  1. Proud Dundee parent

Dundee’s O line is one of the strongest lines I have seen in quite some time. The way they protect their QB is unbelievable and it is only getting better as the season rolls on great Job Boy’s keep up the good work

      1. I would definitely agree that the Dundee o line is doing a great job this year. They are some great kids and that’s not just because my son’s also a starter.
