Week 3 Player of the Week Nominations

By Frank Vajcner

Each week, I will go through the box scores of all of our teams and pick four players whom I will turn to you, the people, to determine our Player of the Week.

There are a lot of choices in a given week, so narrowing them down to four is a challenge in itself. If you have anyone in particular to nominate, hit me up on Twitter. That will actually help me out, as my Friday nights are busy with officiating.

You can then vote in our Twitter poll @FNVictors to determine the final outcome.

Without further ado…

Tyler Swick, WR/KR/DB, Grosse Ile: Swick turned in a monster performance in a wild 50-42 win over Milan. He caught 11 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns, and also tallied 126 yards on kickoff returns and a score. He also had three tackles from his defensive back position

Shea Ruddy, QB, Whiteford: Ruddy turned in another big performance as Whiteford dismantled Detroit Loyola 52-14. The senior passed for 155 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for a score. He also became Whiteford’s all-time passing leader in the win.

Cooper Nye, QB, Airport: Nye accounted for all five of Airport’s touchdowns in a 33-14 win over SMCC. The junior threw for 207 yards and two scores, and also rushed for three touchdowns to help the Jets defeat the Falcons for the first time since 2011. The Jets are 3-0 for the first time since 2012.

Jacob Shank, RB, Riverview: Shank made the difference for the Pirates in a 33-7 win over New Boston Huron. He rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns to help the Pirates win their 22nd consecutive regular season game.

Honorable Mention: Carlson Offensive Line; Bryce Kalb, QB, Summerfield; Graham Junge, QB, Flat Rock; Angel Rincon, DB, Monroe; Travis Symons, QB, Grosse Ile; Owen Yount, RB/DB, Monroe; Vaughn Brown, QB, Erie Mason; Erie Mason Defense
