Riverview’s Cal Lockhart has been named the Friday Night Victors 2021 Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-1, 185 lb senior DE/OLB recorded 65 tackles, 16 TFL’s, 12 sacks and 2 Int’s for the Huron League Champion Pirates (9-0, 9-1).
Lockhart is a rare 4-year varsity football player for the Pirates and was a part of 30 wins during that span. He was also chosen 1st Team All Huron League along with MHSFCA Division 3 All-Region.
Good choice. I saw Riverview play three times this year, and #11 was a difference maker for the defense in each of those games, and with the group of seniors they had, it took a lot to stand out, and he did.
