For the second consecutive season, a Milan player has been named the Friday Night Victor’s Player of the Year. Junior Cole McElvany has been named the 2020 FNV Overall Player of the Year. He led the Big Reds to an 8-1 record with their lone loss coming in week 2 against Riverview. On offense, the 6-1, 190 lb QB ran for 713 yards and 14 TD’s while throwing for another 792 yards and 8 TD’s. On defense, the OLB made 66 tackles including 5 TFL’s while also recording 1 Int.
This is McElvany’s 2nd year on the varsity at Milan and the Big Red’s have gone 19-2 during that time span. In his career he has rushed for 1,158 yards and scored 20 TD’s while also recording 155 tackles on defense. The Big Reds are still alive in the Division 4 playoffs and will play 8-1 Williamston in the Regional when the season resumes.
Other Considered for the Player of the Year: Christian Lopez, Riverview; Noah Beaudrie, Erie Mason; Joe Pizzo, Grosse Ile; Noah Bauman, Whiteford; Ty Schroeder, Dundee; Jimari Moultrie, Riverview and Jaishaun Williams, Carlson.

A Lot of good players in the area , but I believe Cole being on the field, on both sides of the ball, and a presence of being a player who has been coached by the best coach in this area, has led to a good choice for fnv player of the year.
Marty – based on your last name I HIGHLY doubt you are truly an unbiased commentator. But that being said it’s hard to argue with 1,500 yards and 22 TDs at QB PLUS 66 tackles on D. A fantastic season that deserves to be highlighted!
