  1. All of this smack talking going on coulda, shoulda, woulda ! The best one going was the NB Huron guy at halftime of the NB-Milan game last week came to the Milan concession stand and started talking smack with Huron up 21-7 that Milan was overrated and they were going to end our winning streak!! Final 22-21 Milan ..SMACK !!

  2. Hey guys just wondering, what do you think is the best rivalry of the last 10 years in HL? Biased vote of course having played in it just a couple years ago but my vote is View vs GI.

    1. Grosse Ile Dad's Archnemesis

Huron v. SMCC is a great rivalry. Probably the best of all time.

However, In the last 10 years I think the BEST rivalry is SMCC v. Milan. 5-5 against each other and 7 combined HL championships in that 10 year span.

      1. how can you say that huron vs cc is a good one when huron has only won 2 games in like 45 years. I would agree with cc vs milan is a good one. also view vs cc has been a great one. just two power teams going head to head.

I would have to go view vs GI as well or flat rock vs huron.

        1. Milan has won 5 and GI 4 in the past 10 years against CC. those are the only teams that even sniff cc in the past 10 years.

No one has touched cc in the past decade. heck you could go since the 2000.

          1. We’ve lost 3 straight to Milan. Year in year out they just give us fits. I got lots of respect for them though unlike some other Huron league teams(Jefferson, Huron). Well coached and competitive kids. They never have dominant jv teams like huron and Riverview always do, but they get it done at the varsity level unlike Huron ever does.

    2. Smcc vs Jefferson is too one sided. It ain’t a rivalry anymore. CC 9-2 in he last 11 years. Jefferson has scored 10 points vs CC in the last 3 years.

          1. were you on the team? cuz I was. and it probably stung a lot more than just watching it, cuz that kicked us out of playoffs.

      1. Watch out FNV – bears coming out of hibernation soon. calling it next 3 years bears will win districts at least once – you heard it hear first – we will go 2-1 against cc in next 3 years and you will change your mind about the rivalry. We have some good underclassmen that will step up next year to back me up. Best of luck BEAR DOWN

      1. So the answer is no then. Lol. 0-8 Melvindale up next. 6 wins against teams with a combined win total of 8. 1 win in the last 3 years against teams with a winning record. 5-4 Tecumseh in 2017.

        1. I would not say Milan “smacked down” on cc. they beat cc. Milan was not more dominant than cc. evenly matched teams.

        2. Hey now that is just not true at all! Milan won all their games in the Huron League this year but come on we had to come back to beat SMCC, New Boston, We had several close games thru the year. SMCC snapped our undefeated season when T was a freshmen! We’ve won the next three in a row but the last 2 were in a final minutes do or die game!! We’re proud of our boys, talking smack isn’t what we do!! answering it maybe but overall it was a great year in the HL.

          1. yes yall did win every single game, and looks like y’all have a nice playoff standings rn. Tristen and I are very good friends and I respect that kid a lot. coming back from a torn ACL injury in basketball to being one of the best Huron League players of all time. but I still have to disagree with you that milan did not “smack down” on cc. y’all beat them. I just don’t like the wording of smack down. when I hear smack down I think of an a$$ kickin

      1. I guess the question ruffles some feathers eh? 1000 more kids in your school district. Call me when you beat Monroe. Oh wait, you dropped them and tecumseh for Ida and melvindale.

        1. come talk to daddy both of you. you guys might need a timeout. just remember cc is still y’all daddy, so whenever you need some help on how to win, come talk to us.

          1. 😂😂 A little flat rock, airport trash talk. Airport Beating up on cupcake teams, flat rock failing to beat cupcake teams. Lol. Just remember that CC has beaten flat rock 17 out of the last 18 years and airport 14 out of the last 16 years. GO FALCONSSS!!!! “Feeding pac the ball” hasn’t been working vs good teams.

    1. 6 wins is 6 wins bud. Doesn’t matter who you beat. Besides that Airport beat Flat Rock the last 2 years so what does that say about Flat Rock. That Monroe team last year would’ve punished every Huron League team including GI. This years Monroe team is a different story. As a program trying to rebuild there’s nothing wrong with dropping Monroe and Tecumseh for Ida and Melvindale.

  3. Gary listened to the game last night and then talked to some of the players from CC. Did Jefferson even look like they wanted to be out there? Did they give an effort? or was CC just that good last night and Jefferson just the normal now a days.

      1. did I hear cc running a little option last night?? and the wing?? what is coach Kipf doing?? he must of took a shot of something to spark his day!!!

idk if I would of done those plays because now the first and second round of playoffs teams knows it is coming.

        1. Milan has won 5 and GI 4 in the past 10 years against CC. those are the only teams that even sniff cc in the past 10 years.

  4. Milan 20-6 final. Congrats to Milan on an outright league title. Jets keep your heads up, good chance you see Milan again in 2 weeks.

    1. EM who are you? I’m just curious because you support airport so much and am thinking you go there or graduated from there

    1. Congrats to Milan on winning the Huron League title! … So sorry to hear about the Jets QB breaking his hand last week…
It surely made a difference, as bad as it sounds it goes to next up…good luck next week to Airport, hoping you guys win to punch your ticket!

      1. Part of playing football is being prepared, a team can lose a player at any time. Milan lost numerous first string players this season. Milan was undefeated prior to playing Airport and after playing Airport. #undefeatedhuronleaguechamps

        1. ya ya that all sounds good but when your main player goes out, tough to come back. y’all never lost Hines. you lose him. y’all are done

          1. Regardless, Airport wasn’t taking the league, win or lose. Don’t congratulate if you are going to turn around and be condescending. Stay mad. SMCC would have only shared the title after getting beat by Milan. A quarterback can’t win without a team. We were without Furtney, Morris and Lerette, among others, throughout the season. All the teams worked hard, Milan came out on top. #undefeated

          2. if you have all those players but no Hines. you guys don’t win the league. bottom line.

            he’s that good

          3. Not sure why all the sour grapes. Milan players and coaches respect each other. To the point win or lose, they pray together after every game. Both teams are good let’s just agree on that.

Milan does the best with what they have year in and year out. 25 kids dressed. Lost their second best player in week 2 for the year in RB and LB Mike Morris. Also didn’t have Furtney against SMCC. SMCC also had some really good players out when they played. Game was a toss up and Milan won.

Please understand though that Milan is different team without Mike Morris. It would be the equivalent of SMCC losing Cousino.

Both teams are good. SMCC prob has a good shot to go far and hope they do. Milan does as well but the road will be tougher in d-4, especially if they put 2 9-0 teams in the same district with them and Chelsea.

Best of luck to both teams. Bunch of good kids that are well coached and good young men.

            Milan Fan

          4. I wasnt trying to stat a flame war, I simply said that a starting QB being out changes a lot, and yes I TOTALLY agree if Tristine Hines is out Milan loses at least 2 games, SMCC for sure and Flat Rock, there are IMO regular players and there are game changers, and that is a BIG difference, without Hines who is closing in on 2000 Rushing/Passing yards combined, that is HUGE! … but regardless the reality is, it is literally next up it doesn’t matter, Hines has been very lucky in his HS career not getting injured … I truly hope Airport can beat Melvindale and get into the playoffs because they deserve that, scratch that, they earned that right! Good luck!

P.S. – I’m a Milan Alum, but I don’t let facts lead me down a path blind folded, certain players make a difference, and your starting QB being out changes a lot…

          5. Sorry, Tristen Hines, and he is currently at 2111 Passing/Rushing total yards on the season…Milan would be lost without him, no disrespect to any of the players or coaching staff, but they all know it too..

          6. Hines actually tore is ACL I believe sophomore year basketball season

I am glad you understand on where I am coming from. I am almost giving Hines a huge compliment by saying if they don’t have him then Milan has way less of chance to win. Do those other good players from Milan step up in his absence. Idk probably do because coach Hoskins is an amazing coach.
