Thoughts and Questions

I know who the Troll is, but I’m not telling.

Ground and pound.

Marauders give Edsel Ford a rude welcome to the Downriver League.

Air McElvany?

Offense fills the seats, defense wins championships.

Flat Rock  is almost finished with brutal Huron League stretch.

Don’t look now, GI is on top of the Huron League standings.

How?

For most of Friday night, I thought my Ida pick was brilliant.

Bears had a shot?

The last time Milan gave up 25 ppg defensively, they finished 5-5.

Really Monroe? The entire blog except the three readers in Temperance want you to be successful.

Who the heck keeps banging that drum or bell in the Riverview stands?

Make no mistake, Wyatt Bergmoser was the difference in that game at Riverview Friday.

Not fair that Summerfield’s football rival is basically Alabama.

The Wing T has a little razzle dazzle?

Not sure anyone expected State to win last night. Probably why I went to bed at halftime.

Let the Heisman talk begin.

Lions still look bad.

Please submit your Player of the Week nominees. Frank will have the results on Tuesday.

  1. I can promise you that Dundee is not afraid of Ida. If anything Dundee is pissed that they fumbled 4 times, 3 inside the 10 last year in a game they should have won.
I still think Bcc loses to Hillsdale or Dundee and finishes 6-3.. they wont stop Blissfield

  2. 9:48, everyone knows who the head coach is. He happens to be a first year head coach and two of the players whose numbers you noted are sophomores. Simple story- the whole team (including Coach Smith) is young.

  3. Beck from Milan is one of the best O Lineman Ive seen this year. Hard to stop a big guy with that type of explosiveness and speed off the ball.

  4. Sounds like the Ida crowd is making excuses. News flash: you lost to a better team. BCC executed and you didn’t. There was someone who said that you all were in for a rude awakening when conference play opened. Take the medicine and admit that you lost to a better team

  5. How? I tell ya how. Huron lacks leadership both player and coach wise. You can see that the fans and players cant not tell who the head coach is. Sad thing is there is some real talent there. #85,19,12, and 6 are going to be players to look for next year if coaching staff can get on same page.

  6. Flat Rock QB also had 2 or 3 interceptions thrown, but yes, he is good, without him they would be 1-2. Oh wait, they are already 1-2.
Hopefully they will get better at SMCC this week.

  7. Ida's ball security issues finally caught up to them. With all due respect to BCC who is talented in their own right, and will probably win the league title now, Ida was at least 2 scores better and blew it. I would not want to be Dundee right now having to go to Ida to face an angry Bluestreak football team. I am just a fan who has watched alot of LCAA football over the years but Ida should realistically win their next 5 games without much issue before seeing Blissfield in the last week of the regular season.

    Go Streaks!

  8. Ida should have won that game 28-7 fumbled on the 3 and 1. And should have been up 14-0 at the half. They'll be back this week vs Dundee..

  9. Hines had over 200 yds receiving and 3 Td's. Ran in a Td. Ran back an 80 yd field goal block for a TD. Had 15 tackles as well

Jones threw for over 300 yds and 5 Td's with 80% completion percentage. Some were shovel passes, but other than 1 screen that Hines broke lose, were all passes down field.

I don't know the stats, but I thought the FR QB was exceptional. Either threw or ran all of FR TD's. Kid is really good.

    Milan Dad

  10. 8:13 PM YOUR RIGHT. JONES, HINES, AESCHBACKER, BECK, FURTNEY SMITH AND REST OF THE MILAN WILL TAKE CREDIT FOR A 3 AND 0 START AGAINST 3 REAL GOOD TEAMS. OH! I SHOULDN'T MENTION ALL THOSE NAMES THAT COULD BE THE PLAYER OF THE WEEK, I SHOULD HAVE JUST MENTIONED THAT THEY'RE A "TEAM THAT PLAYS AS A TEAM, THAT FINDS AWAY TO WIN". TRY AND STOP ONE PHASE OF OUR GAME AND WE'LL BEAT YOU ANOTHER WAY. JONES HAS BEEN A GREAT ADDITION TO "OUR TEAM". MILAN MOCHA

  11. If Milan goes 2-5 the rest of the way, I'll eat my whistle.

I'll raise my hand, I thought Sparty would win. I don't care if the game is played at three in the morning–when did the Sun Devils become Alabama?

I did, however, expect Arizona State to play…to win…the game. 🙂

  12. 3:12,CC I hope stays healthy and would be absolutely wonderful for the senior Marino to come back, CC should make the playoffs but they will take it one week at a time…They will run into Madison again…

  13. Goins is a top candidate with 200 yards passing and a pick on defense. He ran for a 50 plus yard TD that got called back for holding, so the very next play he threw a 56 yard TD to VanWasshenova. EM

  14. Goins deserves it in my opinion. 2 passing TDS, 2 rushing. 200 yards passing on just 6 completions. Also a pick at corner when Huron was threatening to score.

  15. curious to see how things play out for this season. high school ball is great because any given day something big could happen. I have seen whiteford, Monroe, Jefferson, ida, airport, cc, huron, flat rock and GI play. just talking about HL teams, they all look like one could beat the other. not one HL team I saw looked that much better than the other as in past years. gary and chris, it's still early but, will you guys just comment on maybe who has surprised you so far? and do you wanna change any of your predictions?

    HI D

  16. Sam Cousino from cc deserves player of the week. Kid was the leader of that defense and made some phenomenal plays. Also, was a factor on offense with 2 tds.

  17. Tristen Hines definitely deserves a player of the week! Kid had over 200 yds and 5 touchdowns!!! The whole Milan team did well though!!!
