Week 6 Thoughts and Questions

Airport most likely needs to win out to make the playoffs.

Hats off to Bedford, I’m sure they could have named that score on Thursday.

Carlson takes Allen Park’s best shot?

Dundee seems snake bit.

Not even sure what to say.

The difference for Flat Rock this year is the defense.

Navarre not as friendly as the “island”?

Chiefs bounce back.

Sixty-seven points is an awful lot.

The Bears will get one, I promise.

Can’t lose like that at home Trojans.

Big Reds didn’t go away easy.

Ground and pound?

Don’t look now, here come the Falcons!

Airport’s defense is giving up virtually the same amount of points per game as last year, the difference has been the offense.

Huge game in New Boston next week. The early line has it as a pick’em.

Just because 1 or 2 people from a fanbase complain on the blog, doesn’t mean it’s the whole fanbase.

I watched a pretty good game between Gabriel Richard and Cranbrook on Friday.

Looks like I went 8-1 this week, Gary 7-2.

September was our biggest month (most pageviews) in blog history.

  1. Man , New Boston needs a Taco Bell every time any one from Huron stops Flat Rock Taco Bell . You got to hear some Flat Rock Fan talking smack about Huron. As an adult I really don't mind hearing the kids talk it but when Flat Rock adults start with Huron Kids it's unnecessary. But something my 11 th grade Huron said about the Old Fat guy from Flat Rock that they both agreed on was Huron needed to kick Riverview's butt Friday!!

  2. Let's be honest. The reason September had record views, was because of the "player of the week". If that is handled solely by the experts, you won't have whole towns looking up your site, to vote for their hometown kid. Just a thought..

  3. Sorry 7:58, It will take a miracle for Flat Rock to beat Huron. I have seen Riverview, Huron, Flat Rock all play this year. Friday's game between Huron and Riverview is the Huron League game of the year. If Huron doesn't have the mental lapses they have shown at times this is going to be a barn burner. You have the 2 best O lines in the league paired up this week. It is all going to come down to heart this week! Which team wants it worse. I think if I had to choose a winner I would pick Riverview. The boys up front pave the way for a Pirate victory.

  4. In an earlier post I said Airport, Huron, and Riverview would be tri-champions. Replace Airport with Flat Rock. Huron will beat Riverview then Flat Rock beats Huron.

  5. Should be a good game in New Boston on Friday. I would give the edge to Riverview but don't count out Huron, they have plenty of talent. EM

  6. I'm a pirate fan and I think this is going to be one heck of a game. Huron d is very good and their offense pounds the rock. I can't wait until Friday. And any fan saying their team will blow the other team out doesn't know what they are talking about. Or they are trying to fire their own guys up by false news posting.

  7. i predicted not to long ago the Huron would go undefeated in league. I didn't enjoy my plate of crow after SMCC loss. I'm sure the Pirate fans won't like there's either after they exit Arriwhead Stadium after Friday night. Go Chiefs !!!

  8. The reason SMCC is winning is because they played all the tough teams early. Huron just flat out got lucky to play a wounded warrior milan team. Milan week 3 is very different from milan week 7. Riverview Huron won't even be close the gap between riverviews Oline and the rest if the league is huge. I hope Huron wins flat rocks needs a Huron win but I don't see it happening.

  9. Believe it or not, Riverview is currently number four in rushing yards and number one in total yards in the state of Michigan.

  10. One more thing about Huron; their kicker is the real deal. Wow! Riverview will be starting on their 20 the whole night, and the kid is probably good from 50 yards. Oh yea, he punts too, and can flip the field easily. That kid will play big time college ball.

    – Milan Fan

  11. I watched Huron play Friday against Milan, and also watched Riverview against Milan a few weeks ago. I have to give the edge to Huron next week. Riverview keeps coming at you trying to pound you into submission. I don't think that will work against Huron. They have very good linebackers that fill, and quick, solid DB's that also tackle well in run support. Number 33 for Huron is a beast! I know SMCC beat Huron, but we're starting to see that SMCC is better than they were early in the year, minus the PW win. I know Riverview fans won't like this analysis, and will probably throw in a train reference, or say choo choo, or the pirates are coming and Huron's going to walk the plank. Just one man's opinion.

  12. Actually Chris the real point spread would be Riverview by double digits. Sorry Huron you've had a nice season but facts are facts. A locomotive will drive straight into Huron this Friday night. A locomotive full of Pirates. CHOO CHOO!!!!

  13. I'm sorry, sometimes I write in code and I expect people to figure out. Gary told me to stop doing that. I usually write about the teams in alphabetical order so when I got to Erie Mason, I just wrote I don't know what to say. Quite frankly, I honestly didn't know what to say about that score. I didn't want to offend anyone either way so I just wrote that.

  14. Hey Chris, last year on your thoughts and questions, you did an audio that elaborated on some topics. I know you're busier this year, but I would love some more info on some of your thoughts. Example: "you don't know what to say". ?

  15. When your talking if & ands don't forget the butts! That will get kicked! Come on Chris post it ! It's all in fun!😜

  16. Anyone know the answer to this. If Huron beats riverview and flat rock beats Huron is flat rock league champs cause they would have head to head wins vs Riverview and Huron or is it a and shared like Michigans 1997 national champioship.

  17. Yes Flat rocks strength is it’s defense. But we moved the ball pretty much at will. They turned the ball over twice inside the 10 with a fumble and a pick. Then at the end of the game they were on the 10 and just took knees to end the game. Honestly left a couple out there. Offense for the Rams was head and shoulders above what we saw last week. Good job Rams!! Can we stomach being chief fans for a week??

  18. Congrats on the successful month, guys. Don't post around here much any more, but am always checking the posts and scores. Glad to see the site doing so well. Keep it up!

  19. Cheers on that last point! I found the blog this year on Twitter and have really enjoyed being able to see what’s happening in the community with football and while I love my Bucs ive also found some other great players and teams most of whom I wish success…except for when they play MY favorite team. 😉

The irony with the rough fans on blogs is that I’ve found in MOST cases while the kids may try to kill each other during the game they have that warrior’s respect for each other after. Maybe we adults could learn from them…

I hope next week’s pseudo championship game is special though it will be tough as Riverview will be playing their third straight road HOCO game before going home to play theirs. I guess that’s what happens after a 2-7 season…

Again, congrats on building something cool for the fans of local Friday Night football!

  20. Absolutely Flat Rock's D was the difference last night. Like I said previously Airport had a nice scoring drive early and got down in the red zone late 4th, other than that they were shutdown all night. Or I can blame Gary for picking Airport haha. EM
