Sour grapes…so you did see what I saw…overthrows, Dbs in the back pocket of receivers (behind them or burnt) not bashing your scheme or coverage or your Dbacks, but you MAY want to change it for Friday…good luck Friday and I mean it.
sour grapes GI fan! Not sure what game you watched. The secondary played a great game. On the long pass plays, corners were all over the WR. Yes, were overthrown at times, but corners were in their hip pocket and had to be a perfect throw (which few high school Qb's make). Had many tipped balls by secondary, because WR's were covered well. When their was a completion the WR's got popped real hard couple of times. Most completions by GI were in the flats and that's where I would have continued to throw the ball to, because tough to cover and much easier throw and catch. The fact that they didn't put a ton of pressure on QB was because the defense dropped so many into protection and did not blitz (only 3 or 4 most times). Yes GI is a young team and will get better, but to still only allow 20 some rushing yards and maybe 100 or so yards passing (to a spread offense) I'd say the defense was just fine! Huron will not handle AP like you think. 1st off, Huron runs the Wing-T and mixes in throwing with it. So, they'd prefer to stay on ground and AP secondary makes a ton of tackles and plays downhill football. But, everyone is entitled to their opinion and you and I just see it differently. We will find out more this Friday night. Good luck to you against the bears.
AP didn't stop the pass. GI qb had tons of over throws to wide open receivers. He had on most passes all day to throw. They are in huge trouble against Huron if they don't fix or change out DB's and defense secondary coverage, big big trouble against Huron! Come on AP fans 2 wins doesn't get or earn you respect. Stop asking for respect! Earn it. If AP plays perfect game…Huron puts up 42 and 200+ yds passing
I'm not sure what game you were at Milan fan. We lost and you were the better team but the game was still close until late in the 4th where you got two stops back to back and had long TD runs to take control. It even shows updates on the game in the blog and states it. Enjoy the win but also give credit where it's due. SMCC is a good young team but size finally wore them down.
The Milan SMCC game was not 20-18 with 5 min left in the game lol…. come on pal..It was a great game and SMCC is a very good team, but don't tell lies. Milan stopped SMCC twice in the second half. With 5 min left, Milan was up three scores. Ask. Gary…. he was there… I'd like to here his thoughts honestly on the game? Two good teams with really low numbers
The reason GI couldn't run the ball was Airport controlled the line of scrimmage when GI tried to run. #7 wouldn't have made a difference unless he knows how to break gang tackles. EM
I believe the Airport vs. GI game would have been different if GI was able to run the ball. They were without their key running back #7 Harwood. They could only pass the ball and the jets did a great job of stopping the run. They became one dimensional.
No one ever said Salem has tradition we're talking about this year. That is a very quality win for the rocks and seeing as how Huron beat them makes that a quality win for them
Huron and AP could have went either way last year (Chiefs won 21-14). Will be a closer game than people think. I do think AP has to play flawless ball (no turnovers and limit penalties) to have a chance to win, but it will be a game. This is going to be a great race in the league with several teams having a chance to win. Will not be one team that goes through with out a loss. Great wins by FR and Milan last night, so congrats to both of them.
Just a FYI… Plymouth Salem has had 1 winning season in the past 18 years. In 1998 they were 5-4… just saying… everyone knows all the players out there go to Canton.
Relevant for 5 minutes? GI wins their first league championship in decades and Airport has 50 years of losings seasons and has success because of one great coach and they are world beaters? Last time I checked Level Pebble has a State Championship in football. FR has been down a long time, but don't act like your programs have been somewhere FR hasn't. Only a few teams in this league can really talk about championships, tradition and relevance; those would be SMCC, Riverview and maybe Jefferson.
Flat Rock is off to a nice start but some of you sound crazy. Calling Airport and GI sure wins is dumb. Your program is on the rise, but has only been relevant for 5 minutes so just calm down
The Milan score against SMCC was a 20-18 game until 5 minutes left in the 4th. Game much closer than the score dictates and the Falcons are very young still. Lots of fight left in the Falcons and Milan is a team game on the road.
Huron plays a very good brand of football and it is extremely nice to see that they play as a team which in my mind is awesome to see after last year. Huron and coach spiess are the real deal and the past power house schools that are barely holding on should be on notice.
I am sure Huron is a vastly improved team with more athletes and may contend for a league title . The great thing is all these teams play each other. It's nice to see that many teams are in the race this year and not just SMCC and then the rest. Look forward to the many match ups that await. Riverview very easily could have won that game last night, so I wouldn't write off the view.
Flat Rock is a well coached team! Great play to end the game with the fake punt to Blake Montiy that nobody seen coming to finish off Riverview. Well played Flat Rock see you in the playoffs.
Huron has a 4 game stretch where they play SMCC, Milan, riverview, and flat rock. Their 4 first games are their easiest. Until they go through that gauntlet I would keep my mouth closed. Say what you want, many people felt Riverview was going to be one of the better teams this year. Flat Rock has 1 quality win. Jefferson is not a quality win. So you will probably beat Airport and GI and be 4-0 then reality will set in. I wouldn't get that ring made quite yet.
Flat Rock sounds better, but Huron and Milan will be at the top. Both have a ton of weapons. Saw Huron tonight, definitely a quality program. New coach is the real deal. Lots of options on offense, many the league has probably not seen.
Instead of running up the score, like many do, actually called time outs in the 2nd half and made sure he got everybody in. A positive for the whole league and Huron should go very far. There is a new mentality on their sideline.
IMPRESSIVE !!!
By the way, they did beat a school twice their size last week.
Last week Airport wins a shootout, this week they win a defensive struggle. Airport's secondary played well all night in pass coverage as GIs QB had all day to throw. Not gonna be easy winning in New Boston next week but i'm looking forward to it. Congrats to Flat Rock on beating a good Riverview team, looks like the Rams might be legit. Nice win for Milan over CC. EM
Trick plays only get you so far? Its only a 9 game season and Flat Rock just took a win in one of the toughest games on the schedule while looking to get to 5 or 6 wins. Jefferson, GI, Airport and AA Huron look like pretty sure wins right now also. Nobody is going to care about how they won against Riverview if they are in the playoffs for the first time in years.
Flat rock ran 2 trick plays. A double reverse pass that resulted in an incomplete pass and a fake punt. I wouldn't say "trick plays can only get you so far" Their Defense was the reason they won not the "trick plays"
Coach Reaume at flat rock might be the best offensive mind in the league. Even when Dobson went down they were able to move the ball. Once Dobson came back in the 3rd the O started moving. Riverview didn't score in the second half. Riverview did move the ball but flat rock Bend don't break d limited riverview chunk plays.. Again great coaching and Flat Rock will win some games this year.
Flat Rock played well tonight. Trick plays only get you so far though. Nice Game! The View needs to reset and balance things out. You can't be a one trick pony and expect to win the league.
Airport played better offensively and defensively the entire game struggling with penalties on short yardage situations usually 2nd down. They did surprisingly well against GI's passing attack which burned them a few times throughout the game.
FR was really good again tonight. If the "Truth" doesn't get hurt early in the game, this may have been a 2 or 3 TD game. Sameer Tayeb seemingly makes every tackle on defense. Once again, FR is much faster than I originally thought. They could win the league.
Flat rock played the first half without their starting qb and running back and still found a way to win. If riverview gets off schedule on down and distance they struggle because they have no passing game. Great game in riverview tonight. Btw flat rock is the real deal!!
Hey is flat rock for real though??? coach Reaume and staff had one hell of a game coaching, especially with that fake punt to seal the game. Great job boys!!

GI is really bad his year. Along with Jefferson. Only two teams that can't compete for the league this year with the parity.
The Milan SMCC game was not 20-18 with 5 min left in the game lol…. come on pal..It was a great game and SMCC is a very good team, but don't tell lies. Milan stopped SMCC twice in the second half. Huron will hang 50 on Airport this week.
1:06, Salem wasn't a quality win? Not to mention the several recruits on their team they just beat Howell who is a consistent playoff team 40-12
Get who's back, back again. Guess who's back, Jets are back. Jets are back, Jets are back, Jets are back.
Huron plays a very good brand of football and it is extremely nice to see that they play as a team which in my mind is awesome to see after last year. Huron and coach spiess are the real deal and the past power house schools that are barely holding on should be on notice.
Milan is still the favorite. The Big Reds are still the defending champs. Blowout win over a good SMCC team. FR will get their shot next week.
I am sure Huron is a vastly improved team with more athletes and may contend for a league title . The great thing is all these teams play each other. Say what you want, Salem was a good win. They thrashed Howell on Thursday night.
Flat Rock is a well coached team! Great play to end the game with the fake punt to Blake Montiy that nobody seen coming to finish off Riverview. Well played Flat Rock see you in the playoffs.

Only reason flat rock beat Huron last year was because Mckay didn't play until 4 minutes left and made it a game
Thanks for the updates tonight everyone.
I like Flat Rock over Huron week 8. They do return almost everyone that beat them last year.
Flat Rock sounds better, but Huron and Milan will be at the top. Both have a ton of weapons. Saw Huron tonight, definitely a quality program. New coach is the real deal. Lots of options on offense, many the league has probably not seen.

11:07 Airport is not a sure win for Flat Rock. EM

FR and Huron Week 8 for a league title

Yawn…,Riverview, same soup warmed up again. Boring power I to say the least…
Coach Reaume at flat rock might be the best offensive mind in the league. Even when Dobson went down they were able to move the ball. Once Dobson came back in the 3rd the O started moving. Bedford must be legit.
Are you ready for the GREEN Kool Aide yet?!?! Total team effort! The linebackers made some hue plays! Tayeb and Simons were o fire!
Everyone in the stadium knew a fake punt was coming except the people that should have known.
FR was really good again tonight. If the "Truth" doesn't get hurt early in the game, this may have been a 2 or 3 TD game. Sameer Tayeb seemingly makes every tackle on defense. Once again, FR is much faster than I originally thought. They could win the league.
