Bedford (7-2) is coming off of a 21-20 loss to Detroit Country Day last week while Roosevelt (7-2) lost to league rival Woodhaven 32-22. This is the Kicking Mules 7th playoff appearance in school history while Roosevelt has qualified for the playoffs 15 times including the last 11 years. These teams have played once in history and that was back in the 2010 playoffs when Bedford won 34-23.
Bedford is led on offense by senior QB Joseph Wiemer along with senior FB Joey Oehlers and pass catcher David Jeffers. The Kicking Mule defense is solid and is coming off of shutouts in two of the last three games.
Wyandotte is led by junior QB Richie Miller. The Bears have two junior RB’s capable of big games in Allen Woodward and Kendrick Stanley. Defensively the Bears are led by defensive lineman Stefan Bates and LB Adam Groat. While this isn’t a vintage Wyandotte Roosevelt team, they are solid on defense, but haven’t scored as much as past seasons.
It is tough to tell much about Wyandotte because they haven’t ventured out of the 10 team Downriver League. Bedford has a quality win or two, but their most impressive stat may be their close losses to undefeated Saline and DCD. Pick: Bedford 35 Roosevelt 17
