SMCC rose up to win 1 game. Relax folks. Huron beat them, GI killed them. Milan is predictable. SMCC knows this, Milan doesn't change anything when they play SMCC, so they beat them every year. Just a little film watching.
SMCC has Jefferson yet and LCC, 2 schools that are capable of beating them. As in any other level of football, anything can happen every week. Jefferson is also looking to make the playoffs, SMCC is in the way of that.
I haven't seen any D1 talent in our league this year. Some darn good kids, will definitely go to next level. If any make D1 they will be practice team. Play D2 or D3 where they will get to play.
Funny… there were at least 2 on the field with D1 offers, if you believe what you hear….
Stop with the d1 talk. Does it matter d2, NAIA, d3. Getting the opportunity to play at the next level what difference does it make. After watching the game last night there were not any d1 football players out there. If so they would have dominated a small young d6 team. And don't say you had an off night just got dominated on both sides of the ball. Being on a d1 team (walk on) and being able to actually play at that level are 2 different things.
I don't think what Milan did last night would have worked. SMCC was overplaying and they were were not going to run up the middle much. Defensive coordinator did his homework. SMCC coaches showed something last night
Anyone from the GI/AP game know what all the yelling was about by one of the AP coaches? Sitting in the stands for GI it looked like he was screaming at our kids. Another parent said he was yelling at our coaches. Think it was at the end of the 3rd or beginning of the 4th qtr.
There was a long discussion between this coach and coach Bodner after the handshake near midfield.

Don't know about that but my son said he has never been swore and cussed at so much on the field ever by another team!
Honestly I believe Milan matches up well against GI that was evident in a dominating victory. Speed vs speed Milan is better. GI matches up very well against tight formations that's evident in every game vs a wing t team or a power football team. Now the GI Flatrock game GI won but they gave up 20 pts to a spread team. Same with Huron game. Milan on the other hand killed Huron and Flatrock. But on the other hand when Milan plays those tight packed offenses they struggle. Jefferson game 41-38 CC game last night 30-20.
If view played the same way they did last night all year they'd probably have 2 more wins. They played amazing last night. Go bucs

Great win for the Bucs last night! The Running backs Rodgers,Warlick and Rice with the help of the O-line put it on the Rams all night. The Bucs uses Wood their 3rd Qb of the season and he did very well running and executing the plays all night.. The Bucs Defense shut down the Rams only allowing 1 big play for a TD and giving up very few 1st downs and limiting there passing and shutting down any real run game the Rams had. The Rams 2nd score came on a mis Q on the Bucs special teams. Next season look out for the Bucs if that's the running backs they are going to be using and they are going to have pretty much the whole O-line and defense returning they will be a very good team! I thought the Rams would be better than what we seen last night I was a little disappointed with all the chatter on the blog on how improved they are.
Congrats to SMCC! A great victory! Can't wait watch the film and see if our AP coachs can apply any of it to our game next week! Btw another embarrassing loss! Come on basketball! AP DAS
How about u throw your stellar resume into the coaching ring? I'm sure you are way more qualified. The coaches have only put your some in the wrong position based on your "film review"'lol. Amazing. All I meant was Milan lost! What did SMCC do defensively to slow there offense! Our defense should be embarrassed giving up 30+ a game! That's reality!! I know the coachs work there tails off! I'm not in anyway blaming them solely!
#9 Dad — where is your son likely to be playing next year? I want to thank him for years of watching him play. My son tells me your boy is a class act on the field. I wish nothing but good luck for him.

The prayer at the end of the game between Milan and SMCC was incredible to see. Hats off to both schools for doing this. It was so right in so many ways. Much respect for both programs. Parents on both sides should be proud to have their sons play in either program. That's what it is all about! God Bless!
Noticed at the SMCC game that there was a new center. If this move was made at start of year I think that team could be undefeated or just one loss. What a difference. Never understood why that was. Must be some political thing. Either way the line looked very good and Milan is fast as hell. I heard some Milan people saying #9 doesn't get the ball enough but I think the Milan coach plays that card well. He used as a decoy which opens things up the QB and other backs to run. That was just a good game to watch. To bad somebody had to lose. I would have paid triple to see that game.
The center Davis Brinkmaier just got back from injury. He was a factor.
That strategy didn't work last night did it? Sometimes just sometimes you have to give #9 the ball more than 6 times especially when you are losing.
David was dressed for every game. He wasn't just back and has been ready to play since Pewamo Westphalia.
Sovey could miss the last 2 games of the season. If he does I gotta say they're really tough over at Jefferson when it comes to discipline
Smcc will beat Jefferson no doubt and 5-4 6-3 will get them in playoffs.
Jefferson will come to play vs SMCC. Look back to 2012. Same scenario.

SMCC played a heck of a game tonight!! Milan was a great opponent, they played as a team and they won as a team. We have a young team and I look forward to the future at SMCC. It might have helped that SMCC comes to play when it's the week of Milan!!! Just wondering… Does #9 Dad have any more players coming up to the HS next year?

Missed assignments and poor play calling at PW, should've run the ball for 2 at Huron, 3 lost fumbles and lots of penalties at GI. No excuses, but you did ask.

We're not bragging. After reading all of the Milan bragging in the beginning of this week, we just decided to do our talking AFTER the game. We still have a long way to go.
SMCC better win against Jefferson, or they risk a 4-5 record. Otherwise, this Milan win was as close as you'll come to the playoffs.

So – anyone on here who thinks that SMCC beating Milan tonight was an upset are new to Huron League football. This is always an emotional and physical game. Tonight no different. Congrats to SMCC on a well played game. Well deserved. I would bet that many of those CHEERING the Falcons on this blog were the same ones who were complaining about the Falcons coaching staff the previous weeks.
I was impressed with the Laplante kid…..too bad that offense doesn't really showcase his talents. He is a really good player. By the way, what is up with the SMCC fans on the Milan sidelines and in the end zone? Enjoy your weekend….back to work on Monday.

I'm not hear to bash Milan but this Smcc team is not the same.. They are young and coming together and Coach Kipf has now got the right players in the right spots.. And not to mention getting healthy doesn't hurt.. Get ready Falcon faithful I can see a deep playoff run in this team..
SMCC was far from healthy tonight, several players sitting out because injuries. Two RBs plus their kicker too. Couple of LBs too. SMCC played the best they have all year. If they played that way all season they would win by double digits every week. Definitely would have beat PW Week 1. Plus they held the best RB in MHSAA history to less than 150 yds rushing…. Jared Smith.

Really good game in Monroe tonight. Credit the Falcons. The 60 yd td to put Milan up a touchdown before half that got called back hurt Milan. Then the trap on 3rd and 30 was a killer. Credit to SMCC. Good team all around. Milan couldn't run inside with the d line cutting them everyplay and there were no lanes. Good game tonight by both teams.

Jefferson had a couple nice drives, but Huron had a couple big plays to make the difference. Big Play on a bad handoff, big play near the end after Jefferson gave it up on downs. That was the difference.
