  1. Smcc crushed Flat Rock and Riverview. AP couldn't stop Jefferson. How are they gonna stop cc? Plus the defense for cc is much better then Riverview or Flat Rock. Not sure where this is coming from or how this is a reasonable prediction. Smcc wins by at least 4 touchdowns. I hope for AP's sake that they can hold it together, but it will be hard to win another game this season as they have the hard part of the league schedule the next three weeks with Smcc, GI, and Milan. Hopefully the kids over there keep playing hard and enjoy their senior year the best they can.

  2. When Jefferson had 21 and riverview had 8, the riverview QB was running to the sideline to get the next play. No hurry up offense or two minute drill. Is that players or coaching ?? C'mon man !!

  3. tk and 3:46 you can work hard, have long practices, watch films, etc…but what is being taught and learned? the kids are not getting the right information to become better players. i have watched the games and watched the game films and been to a few practices. now my arm chair fixes(at no charge of course) from watching films and being at the games and a few practices.
    1) all the running backs need to stop trying to run over EVERY defender.
–yes even if the defender is laying on the field. step over them, yards matter.
    2) qb needs to have drill of getting hit while throwing. he has happy feet and wants to run first on every drop back pass.
    3) 3 step drop on passes and shorter routes. ala tom brady.
    4) qb takes to long of stride when throwing makes him less accurate.
    5) don't blitz mossburge. blitz the other guys and let him come in and clean up.
    6) pinch or slide the d line. they are turning instead of being square, thus creating holes. middle is getting blown up.
    7) change the signals and play calling i picked them up after the first game.
    8) blitz the db's
i was gonna do 12 but that should be enough for now…oh yah airport will beat cc…you read it here first!

    1. Great post 12:30! 3:46 must be an Airport coach! I agree they put in tons of time for those boys. But like you mentioned something is a miss. Airport beats CC this week 13-6

  4. I agree they are not lazy . I had a kid in the program. They put in the work. Although no one is running their mouth on here. That would be the pod cast. They are typing on the blog! Lol jk

  5. AP fan,5% of the playbook? and you would know this how? TK9317, the coaches are desperate and lazy huh? Do you go to Airports practices? Their film sessions? The weight room? All of you arm chair quarterbacks on here kill me, you can sit on a blog and run your mouth without knowing what you are talking about, but don't have the courtesy to actually go see the work that the coaching staff are putting in. Mr. Schultz, I believe that calling a coach lazy on this blog is attacking someones character as a coach but that's just me. Some of you people on here need to get a clue and open your eyes.

  6. I would say that a good number of the players that don't come back and play is because of the parents bad mouthing the coaches every day at home. AP parents you are as much to blame as the coaches. Support or shut up. Don't be a negative impact influence at home.

  7. When the AP chain gain tells you that the visiting teams are calling the plays before APs Offense runs the plays, then that means AP is predictable. That falls on coaching because the players are not calling the plays. Only about 5% of the playbook is being used, JV is using the same play book and have run plays that the varsity hasn't used in the last 4 yrs. So yes players play coaches coach and players run the plays the coaches send in, and if the play doesn't work and it keeps being call. Well I wonder who that falls on, I'm not saying the coaches are bad but, when something is not working then they need to open their eyes and see that something needs to change. If they don't recognize its not working where should it fall????

  8. I can't believe there was even consideration to move some JV kids up to Varsity this week at Airport.
There are no kids hurt on the Varsity level and no need to move up anyone.
These AP Vasity coaches are both desperate and lazy. Hey AP coaches – Take the time to coach the kids you have and bring them up to the next level of play and do it without creating a negative culture that is driving kids away from the program.
Furthermore, when you bring the team onto the field next home game, take a look at the student section as you walk by and see how many current students have played for you at the Varsity level and have choose to not play for you anymore.
If the coach – athlete relationship is motivating kids to quit versus bringing out their very best, then YOU'RE the issue coach.

    1. You know this is very frustrating to me! Quitting because you don't like the coach? I've heard this on multiple levels and sports here at AP. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! Those kids parents must all love there bosses or supervisors at work! Great thing to teach a young impressionable kid! Just quit cause you don't like them? UUGGHHHH! This is were as a society we have went wrong! Coddling!!!

  9. Sometimes it takes a new face a new plan to get a team going but it's still about the coaches and players buying into what the head man wants to do.

  10. Airport fans…. what a bunch of cry baby's. Just admit it, flat rock took you to the woodshed, in your own backyard, on homecoming night!! Back to back for flat rock against you. Stop complaining and hopefully you guys win more then 1 game, flat rock wants playoffs.

    1. You took us to the woodshed. I didn't see anywhere someone say you didn't deserve it. Great game for flat rock. I'll complain all I want though. If Chris decides not to publish it that's fine also.

  11. All I heard at the beginning of the year was don't sleep on AirPort don't sleep on AirPort. Guess what everyone I'm snoozing on them. Watch out for GI

  12. So just a question. If it's all about talent does that mean flat rock has finally got passed thier no talent years. They are finally getting some talent in the program. That is working out well for the new coach then . The kids at flat rock are excited you can even see it in the numbers on the sidelines. I remember a couple years ago only counting roughly 20 kids. Now there are roughly 30.

  13. Here's one for ya. Instead of crying about it just say Flat Rock was the better team last night. Stop making excuses Flat Rock took it to AP all night.

  14. I will say this-Redmond didn't always have the most talent in the league for 15 years straight. Coaching has a lot to do with success. Airport has enough talent on that team to win 4 games. Everyone on here predicted Airport to be a contender with who they had coming back from last year. Not saying that is a good thing but it is a starting block. There's absolutely no reason for Airport to go 1-8 this year again. Get somebody in there with high school coaching experience. Otherwise this program is done. The next 2 years look promising. There is a good junior class and Sophmore class. There should be 2 good seasons ahead. Don't waste it away!!!

  15. Wow…good job by GI and Huron, and FR! Id be very worried if I were CC right now. Gotta step it up big time when it's game week against Milan.

  16. Should be a great game next week. It's all about matchups and Milan matches up very well against the team that throws the ball and does not run the T-formation Lol….

If gross isle gave up 34 points to new Boston, it could be a long night next Friday. Milan is starting to grow up a little bit which us fans knew would take some time when u lose 19 of 22 starters from last year. Kids have a lot of heart and work hard. They are getting better every game and are a long way from racing their potential. Can't wait for Friday.

  17. AP has plenty of talent to compete with anyone in this league PERIOD. What most fail to realize is that 90% of coaching is done in the off season and at team camps and at practice during the week. AP had enough talent to beat Huron with their starting QB. Come on guys. There is as much talent there as anywhere else. If someone says that FR had more talent then AP, then they are smoking the good stuff lol. And lastly….. Slim rosters???? That's the best one yet. Tell it to GI with their 19 varsity kids. What a joke

    1. Why do all of you airport guys come on the blog and complain about your players AND coaches it's really irritating. Oh and by the way be ready for that joke of a gi team 😉

    2. 12:59,
AP does have some talented players, but whether or not my son and his friends at FR have more talent than AP is not my concern. What I am happy about is that FR won, and did so in dominating fashion by not allowing a TD. Keep belittling FR. Helps to motivate the boys. Also, try to remember this: "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." If AP is as talented as you believe, then maybe it boils down to that extra weight lifted, or mile run in the off season, which doesn't require coaching. Always easy to blame others, but what I saw last night had little to do with coaching.

  18. All these comments about the coach? Really? Come on now. Coaches coach and players play. And tonight Hoskins and Ward put together a brilliant game an and the players made it work to perfection. GI is good. flat rock is better. AP needs help.
Next Friday should be a dandy in Milan.

  19. I graduated from Flat Rock high School in 2015 and I can honestly say I've never been so optimistic about the future of the Flat Rock Rams. I haven't been able to make it to any games this year, but I've heard wonderful things from this blog. Flat Rock will no longer be the team to schedule on your homecoming so you can have a free win. Coach Reaume has really turned this program around. GO RAMS!!

  20. I was 0-4 picking the games tonight for the first time in the history of the blog. Not my finest hour. Remember though, I picked Milan and Grosse Ile as the two best teams in the league in my previews.

  21. I agree with you there. We NEED a new offense. but you can't blame Baas for the lack of talent. If he can't get this program back rolling by the end of the 2018 he will find a new job.

  22. Huron Fan here. I've seen GI and Milan play our boys. I gotta say Milan is a better team. They can kill you with so many weapons. Should be a Milan victory next week. Gotta play the game though.

  23. GI played with heart tonight. Vollmerhausen keeps his legs moving, powering forward, gaining extra yards each time. Trombley, Wiewiura (pronounced "wiveera"), made the line ( both sides) look easy. Both quick off the snap, and agile. Mikey Simone is back off the injured list and contributing. Sheppard showed he can run, throw, and see the field. Moores height and strength gave him an advantage over SMCc defenders. He caught a long ball at a key time after defense held SMCC on the 2yd line. Every team member contributed. Great win! GIMOM

  24. Baas is the one who is supposed to run a playbook that isn't so easy to predict and make adjustments at halftime. They have only scored one touchdown in the second half this year. He took a program that made it to the playoffs for 20+ years in a row to the worst team in the Huron league. Kind of hard to say he isn't at least a part of the problem they have over at airport. Was put in the head coaching position at 26 which may have been too soon considering some of the experience the other Huron league coaches have.

    1. Why do u think Redmond go out of dodge? He knew the talent pool was slim. The Duffy, Anderson, Ritter, Baas, Morais trains left the station. There have been a few athletes every year but not a bunch of beef up front. Slim rosters and half the 6'2 225 kids are too busy on their iPads at home now a days. Lol

  25. Great job tonight Rams! The schedule was difficult to start the season, but anyone who thinks this is the Flat Rock team of year's past is mistaken. Tough, disciplined team, and solid coaching. Nice win tonight leaving no doubts!

    1. I will. Feel free to come sit with me too. GI is a good team no doubt, I'll be the first to say it's all about the match ups. We in my opinion do not match up well against power football, spread offenses we do. We match up well against GI, not so much against SMCC.
Milan proved tonight that when they play an A game on both sides of the ball they are dominate. So talk your trash all you want, we have some thick skin. See ya next Friday night.

  26. As an Airport fan it is annoying to hear all this bragging about our jv team and how Baas is a bad coach. Yeah its important to have a good jv program but it matters most on Varsity. and Baas isnt a bad coach so stop blaming him. we shouldnt be bragging about anything till we have atleast 2 wins in a season! thats embarrassing to say.
    -Airport fan

    1. Never the players, always the coach. The Airport way. Dropping passes on 3rd down, qb dropping ball on big 3rd down. Horrible up front equals losing games. Period.

    2. Are you saying the parents of a 5-0 team should not be happy and excited for there kid? Your kid must be up on varsity and used to losing. That's a shame. JV has had 2 winning seasons due to the sophomores this year. Many believe the talent will be squandered if a change is not made. Last nite was an embarrassment. Dropping passes throwing to kids not even looking for the ball. Missed blocking assignments. The D was crap 2 weeks in a row now. Sorry pal that all starts from coaching!

  27. I've got nothing. Hats off to Milan. Huron, love ya boys. But you gotta play ball and score. That's the only way to win.

    KC

    1. Funny, we didn't hear that all week. It's as if Huron expected just to stick another running back behind the center and be fine–all the more for exposing Milan's weak run defense, right? How's this for a Huron League thought: starters are starters and backups are backups for a reason.

    2. Huron never had much of a running game other than their QB who didn't play. Tonight's game didn't disclose anything about Milan's D other than the DB who made two nice interceptions. The offense is the real deal. Let's not get too full of yourself CoachTom. A lot of schedule left for you guys (SMCC, GI).

    3. I'm not playing any card. What it's called is when your number is called you have to step up. I think your QB played pretty good. It was not the QB's fault for the 42 points given up. I'm sorry about your QB, honestly I am, I wish no injury on any kid. But 7 did fine, your defense on the other hand, not so good. They worried too much about 9 and forgot we have other kids that are play makers as well. It's a team sport. 6 is great. 12 is great, 5 is great, 74 is great. Huron forgot about those boys.

    4. Well my point is this.I don't like to see players get hurt as well. Now if Barnes had gotten hurt last week instead of Hurons QB they probabaly would have had their offense on the field alot more possibly scoring more points and giving up alot less points. Not making so much of an excuse for losing but the score in the Milan game would be more closer to the score in GI game. So if you care to predetermine the outcome of your game next week well we will just have to wait and see you play a GI team wich happens to have their Healthy Starting QB. Good Luck.

  28. HL COACHES YALL NEED TO FIND SOME NEW COACHES CAUSE YALL HAVENT BEATEN MILAN OR SMCC IN DECADES I WOULD GIVE A NUMBER BUT NOT READY TO COACH RIGHT NOW.

  29. Hey guys, I had to have a minor medical procedure today, suffice it to say I wont be attending the Milan -vs Huron game. Please keep the scores coming in and as always thanks to you guys who are always there doing so, I appreciate it very much!
