  1. any one with any football knowledge would know that anyone in the league could do could even flat rock Jefferson is turning around!

  2. Huron will be very lucky to win 5 games without Hartwick in a balanced conference this season.

    SMCC nation

  3. Milan looked as good as the other 3 teams there at Pioneer. I thought they would struggle against Saline this morning being as young as they are, but actually competed well and were more consistent offensively. Out scored Saline 3-2 out of 4 offensive and defensive series to end the scrimmage where they drove the ball. Lindeman and Barnes are absolute studs on both sides of the ball. They should all-state caliber kids. Milan will be very young, but might fly under the radar a little bit. Hoskins and his staff will get the most out of what they have. Numbers are up across the board which is a great sign for the future of Milan Football. Looking forward to a great year in the conference. Should be as competitive from top to bottom as it has been for a long time.

    Milan Fan

  4. Milan going against AA Pioneer, Livonia Churchill, and Brighton tom night at Pioneer. Should be interesting to see how they do against all three schools over twice their size.

  5. Kalbflesh will stay in the spread and lost 2 games because of it. He should stay back in the wing t. They have talent, but no QB.

  6. Airport looked very good in the Bedford 7 on 7. Lots of good young athletes. Mossburg is going to be a force.. this will be a turn around year for the jets

  7. This is Hurons year? Lol….. Without Hartwick, they will be running 14 different offensive sets while 1 could make them successful. If I were K, I'd go to a T-clinic as he will have the most talent like the last 4 years like Riverview. Without Hartwick to bail them out, could be a long season for the cheifs

  8. This is Hurons year with a lot of talent coming up from the jv team as well as the incoming seniors. It will be interesting to see them throughout the season and how they turn out

  9. Yes, riverview graduates a fair share of starters, but they return key juniors who were contributors — especially in the trenches. Some nice talent moves up from successful j v squad also. Look for team unity and leadership out of some fine young men. — coaches should like this group. Tough non league schedule with Romulus and Rouge. — will require many league wins to find a playoff slot. Look for grosse ile, milan and smcc to challenge.

  10. Riverview lost a ton of great players and starters. Not sure where your numbers are coming from? I can think of 5 legit starters that are gone without looking at rosters. This is why I love this site:-)

  11. SMCC at Riverview in the first week will likely determine the league champ and runner up. Milan is a likely 3rd with Huron and GI challenging. Airport, FR and Jefferson will compete for 6th.

  12. I think Grosse Ile will be the team to beat. They only lost 3 starters. Riverview however lost only all but 1 of their starters. Just don't see how they are viewed as favorites.

  13. Smcc JV was all freshman last year.. A year playing together in smccs system does wonders.. Obrian and LaPlante look unstoppable on D..

  14. SMCC returns some really good kids. The two backers are both monsters. #47 and #42. I am not an SMCC fan, but defense will be very good and Huron league will be average this year overall. Offense will grind it out and even if they don't win the league, they go into D-6 with Clinton losing too much and Luman nothing special. Will outcoach any other east side team like Madison heights Madison with more talent. Unless Loyola drops to D-6, they should make it to regionals with a good shot to go to the semi's.

  15. I've heard from reliable sources that Jack is on the staff. You will see soon.

Jefferson is very poorly coached. I'm sorry. There is just nothing else to say here. No one with any football knowledge will disagree. No need to get into specifics. Just watch the games the last few years.

  16. Good to have you back Chris. Looks like this season could be the most wide open league race in years. I don't see an obvious favorite right now. As an Airport I'm looking forward to seeing last year's talented JV squad up on varsity. They will still be young cause most of the team was freshman. I would say they are a year away from being a serious league contender. EM

  17. Riverview will be stacked.
Milan has the top two playmakers
Every other team is a toss up.

I would like to see everyone's reasoning on why SMCC will win the league again, considering their JV team was one of the worst ever, did they recruit that heavily?
And why Jeffersons coaching staff is so bad and the problem there!?!

  18. Jack is not on staff at Dundee. He helps Coach Mac from time to time but he is enjoying retirement from what I hear.

  19. Looks like Chris has the top teams in the league losing their non-league games. Is the league down this season?

  20. Grafton Inn. You might not want to worry about Tommy O's Defense but worry about their OFFENSE> they have their whole Oline returning with their best RB.

Huron will beat you, but it will be close.

Jefferson is going to be abysmal.

You will lose to FR if Mossburg does what he did last year. Tell him you can't double blitz A gap every play and expect to the fastet QB on the edge in the league..that works against Jefferson . FR QB could be better this year.

SMCC will win because Chad Baas can't out coach them.

GI has a lot back… including their Oline, best RB and LB from last year along with two of the best receivers in the league.

Milan- Has Lindeman and the best QB in the league. Airport has never and will never beat Airport. They're cursed. You take into consideration Milan went 9-3 and expects to win and Airport is sinking faster than the titanic as a program and it makes sense.

    Tecumseh- Toss up game.

You win 3 games possibly 4 at best. Dundee possible. Tecumseh, Jefferson and Tecumseh

  21. League should be very even across the board with Riverview, Smcc, and Milan finishing in the top 3.

Airport has to win some meaningful games before they get any respect. No one cares how many JV games you win. Why are they playing class c Dundee? And heard that Jack Giarmo is a full time staff member at Dundee now…….interesting

How will Huron be without Hartwick? Should have the most talent along with Riverview

Milan has the two best playmakers in the league in Barnes and Lindemin and a D-1 lineman in junior Mike Furtiney who I believe already received his first D-1 offer. But Milan lost a very good senior class and has to replace a ton with low numbers

Flat Rock is still a ways away, but wins 3 games

Riverview will have the best football players in the league. But very predictable and tend to get out coached at times

Jefferson……… Very below average coaching staff, but good hard nosed kids.

GI- you just never know and must stay healthy. Numbers always seem to be way too low and no adjustments defensively

Smcc- runs there system and most will struggle to stop it prob winning the league again

  22. GI has not made a defensive adjustment in 5 years. Playing 4-4 cover 3 on 100% of your defensive downs will only get you so far.

  23. I see GI in close games with CC, and view. Otherwise they should run the table. They are returning a lot of players including their entire O line.

  24. Airport at 5-4, that is a great increase from 1-8
Airport vs. Dundee: Tommy O's defense still cannot stop a Huron League team, W for Airport
    Airport vs. Huron, L
    Airport vs. Jefferson, W
Airport vs. Flat Rock, W revenge game from last year
Airport vs. Riverview, L still can't win big games
Airport vs. SMCC, flip a coin
    Airport vs. GI, see above
    Airport vs. Milan, W
    Airport vs. Tecumseh, W

The Jets have back a ton of talent from a young squad. I see them shocking people this season.

    1. Thus poster thinks Huron will compete with Riverview for league; and that Milan will be in the bottom half. I disagree, but like the completeness of the write up.

  25. Chris you seem all over the map on this season. You said you saw Milan Huron and GI running the league last season.

  26. I don't see Airport winning 5 games, nor do I see SMCC WINNING 6 . MILAN I see at 6. Everything else is spot on.
