  1. I personally believe that the Huron League is pretty good this year. Huron has gotten every teams best punch. Although I do understand that they didn't live up to the expectations, I would think a little second life could be exactly what this team needs and they could be a tough out for some teams. Allen Park and Trenton included

  2. calpreps.com has both Allen Park and Trenton beating Huron in close games. Czarnaki is not better than Hartwick.

If Huron gets in, it would most likely be one of those two teams or possibly Chelsea.

  3. Who do you think Huron will play if they do get in? Allen Park/Trenton? How do you think they would stack up against those teams?

    1. Trenton and Allen Park both would absolutely DESTROY Huron this season. Trenton's QB is equal to or a bit better than Hartwick. I haven't seen AP that much, but from what I've seen, not too shabby either.

  4. You don't get much for an opponent that beat you, even if they win week 9. You get points based on opponents that you have beaten based on class size and wins. They need wins from Andover, FR, Jefferson and Airport.

  5. There are a lot of teams that should make it in at 5-4 this year. Would be very surprised if Huron made it in with how little their point total is. Just one person's opinion. It would help them if all the teams they beat won.

  6. I heard Huron has a decent shot to make the playoffs Chris, what do you think? There are a decent number of 5-4 teams out there on the bubble. I would love to see Huron in the playoffs, after last season they have gotten every teams best shot this year and I don't believe we have seen their best full game of football yet.

  7. Many of you really show how little you understand high school football even in the Huron league by your comments. Summit will have their day, but it won't be this Friday night against Huron, because they are just a little above a JV team playing Huron's varsity. Replacing SMCC isn't the answer either, that will make Huron or any other school in the league a perennial contender for any title. SMCC is well coached and disciplined and running an outdated offense, but kicking all your backsides with it because of the off season work they do. The kids are vested in their program as they should be and do the off season work it takes to be successful in-season. If Huron wants to be state semifinalists each and every year, they need to get their athletes to buy into the program and do the off season work… to get off their behinds and commit to the program… it has to cost them emotionally on Friday night when they lose a game by any score because they aren't strong enough mentally or physically still. Until Huron has a TEAM that feels that way-not just a few kids on the team- nothing will change on a permanent basis. That, above everything else, is why SMCC continues to beat the tar out of the Huron league year in and year out with half the kids enrolled.

Mind you, I am NOT an SMCC fan. I would love to see them roll through the league with an 0-7 record, because the smug attitudes they display collectively get old, but you can't argue with what they do to ensure their own success. They play old school, smash mouth, hard nosed football that isn't about wide open offense, but rather ball control. Against Huron they had one drive that took almost nine minutes to score a touchdown… NINE minutes… It's a little boring to watch, but its an effective way to win at the high school level.

  8. anyone who would take summit over Smcc in the league is brainless. Smcc will be the prep needed for teams like Milan and the view will appreciate a few games from now. Sorry you fellas from new Boston will be back in the stands spectating were you've been for decades. Quit whining and work harder. Smcc didn't get where they are complaining. And they have taken their lumps. They will for the next few years possibly. But through hard work and tradition. They will always find their way back. And so everyone knows. Their is zero transfers on the varsity football team. This years or last. Before that argument starts back up

  9. Huron people have been saying for the last 4 years that they are in the upper half of the league. If you are step up your nonconference schedule. Don't get on here and say they are lucky to get 4 league wins so they schedule 2 cupcakes to get there kids into the playoffs. EARN IT.

    1. Right and all you would have is a weaker league so that your team would not have to practice as hard to become better-Thanks. You just decribed the new American attitude.

  10. Playing Summit doesn't keep them out of the playoffs this year. Failing to win 6 games keeps them out of the playoffs this year.

  11. Well turns out that playing Summit keeps them out of the playoffs this year. The 4 teams they beat this year have a combined 6 wins.

  12. Summit's Middle School is in the Huron League, and they have been hoping to enter into it at the High School level as well. I believe these series of games is their test run. Flat Rock would be happy, I would assume 😉

  13. Huron needs to do everything they can out of conference to get wins. They struggle year in and year out to get 4 wins in league. Give huron a break they had one good season and everyone thinks they are a powerhouse. They are just doing want they need to do to try to get their kids into the playoffs.

  14. I doubt that was the Huron faithful doing that, since Huron played Summit last year too. Huron played them week 1 and Riverview played them week 9.

  15. Last year the old Huron faithful was getting on Riverview hard for Summit being on the schedule now they have them and its all good. I completely understand what they are doing by getting a for sure win but don't talk down to a team that plays them then when you play them its LOL!!!!!!!
