Jefferson (1-4) is coming off of a 42-7 loss to Riverview while Flat Rock (2-3) beat Airport 34-28. Jefferson won last year’s game 35-14 and leads the all-time series 32-18-1.
Jefferson will look to establish their running game against the Rams while using the pass when necessary. The defense led by DE Cory Wilkins will look to stop the Bear’s losing streak at three.
Flat Rock has been playing better lately getting their first league win since 2012. The offense has shown they are capable of scoring, but the defense will need to step up and stop someone if the wins are going to keep coming.
This is a winnable game for both teams. A Flat Rock win would be great for the Ram’s future while a Jefferson loss could be the worst thing for a once proud program. Pick: Jefferson 28 Flat Rock 20.
nice win for the Bears! Dominated the line of scrimmage all night! Bear down

Former player at JHS.. So I can honestly say the coaches currently arent the best thing for Jefferson football.. I've had success and also bad years.. In the last couple years its extremely apparent that the kids arent disciplined the right way.. I just think someome new from outside the program would be the best thing.. Not that Pickens is a bad coach, just not a head coach in my eyes.. Hopefully the boys finish strong tonight. Bear pride!
I was on the losing end of one of those 63-8 games. We took the opening kickoff back for a TD then went for 2 and got it. I think that pissed off Cisco and there was no mercy the rest of the game. I was a Junior and we only had 16 healthy players. It sucked, but I learned a lot from that game and others like it.
GO RAMS!!!
Well,
After, what the last 5 or 6 years of 1 or 2 wins, Its been long enough. These great kids are going through their high school years with very little success.
I would say major changes have to occur and ultimatums need to be made. Players and coaches. You don't do your job, we will find somebody who will. You can not fail repeatedly in real life, you get fired or demoted. You repeatedly miss your blocks or run the wrong hole, you are out. You can't put a .500 team on the field, you are out.
Not saying I can coach any better. Just saying there needs to be a bar set and we have been beneath it for awhile now. Any of us are only as good as the people we surround ourself with.
Blocking practice all week next week. JV and Varsity. You don't do it, you run.
I think all of us "parents and fans" are just thinking that maybe change things up, put some different kids in to play. Stop playing the SAME kids over and over with the SAME plays. Obviously it isn't working.
I remember them days and it sucked being on the other end of it let me tell ya.. but it is was it is.
Lol… All you parents and "fans" think you can coach better than Jeffersons, well go sign up and let's see.
Yeah 63 points with a school record 613 rushing yards! Those were the days my friend!!
Grow up loser.. School has lost a lot of kids.back in day we had 900 hundred kids in high school .1994. Was best team ..I love Jefferson more now than ever because they kids give it their all despite cchanges .1995 grad
I'd love to see Jefferson get back to successfully running a smash-mouth offense. That's what makes the Huron League so awesome. Good, down-home, blue collar football. I'm also glad to see teams across the league getting more competitive. Flat Rock is on what looks like an upswing, so this should be a good game. Both teams have a lot to prove. (Felt sorta bad putting 63 points on the board against the Rams back in the day.)
Excellent point 11:03. I am a Jefferson fan, but I do believe you are right. We don't have enough team speed. We lack balance and I'm not sure if our coaching staff understands this. I hope so. I'm sure I'm not revealing anything top secret here, but our smaller guys have decent speed, but not fast enough to break one. We don't have a large bruising full back, so we have no balance with rushing. The littler guys get the crap beat out of them going up the middle and the QB isn't fast enough to make the corner. Hopefully our coaching staff is working on this. We have this potentially great offense, but the balance and play calling are way out of sorts. Oh, by the way, we have a passing game too.
I believe Jefferson can pull out a win against the Rams, but we have some work to do.
Bears 21- Rams 18
How exactly do you "open up the passing game" from the T formation?? It's a ground and pound offense. It takes major discipline to run it successfully. Look at the Jefferson teams in the 90's. They would run it right down your throat and win by 50! That discipline isn't there anymore. Discipline has to start from the coaches.
Flatt Rock wins this one.. Jefferson is to slow.. Flatt Rock has to much speed for Jefferson..35-21 Rams
At Flat Rock we take Homecoming very seriously. I don't know how it is at other schools, but we always had a 2 hour long pep assembly that got everybody fired up. The Football players got called down to the gym floor and hyped everybody up. I don't think Homecoming is a distraction at FR, I look at it as a motivator.

I would like to see the bears throw the ball more for the remainder of the season, I think that's more of there strength.. Anyone else?
Not passing with these boneheaded coaches
There games would be a little closer
LOL. You got that right. Still think the Bears win though.
This will be a great game. I see it similar to the Airport-Flat Rock game with a close finish. Jefferson lost to Airport on a late game drive in a rainstorm in a game the could have went either way. Airport and Jefferson pretty even. Jefferson offense is just waiting to explode. Too many weapons to not open it up.
Jefferson's offense will finally get it done. Of course with some smart play calling. It will be a fun game to watch.
Jefferson 42- Flat Rock 35

homecoming is a distraction not a motivator.

Jefferson wins. The difference Is line play. Oh btw Pickens will have his kids ready. Airport over looked FR

Bears got this…
Jefferson offense led by Nick Humphrey with 200+ yards and 3 tds no passing yards from Justin kull
I think this game comes down to who makes their extra points.
Flat Rock alumni here, so this may be a little bias. This is Flat Rocks's homecoming so I think this adds that extra push that will get the Rams over the edge. I have not seen Jefferson play yet, but I have seen the Rams play and I can say with 100% fact they are way better than last year. They are still not where they should be, but I think FR takes this one based on what I've heard about Jefferson, and seen from Flat Rock. GO RAMS!!!

They say don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see. Still think the Rams win though
Flatt Rock gets it done 35-27 .. Rams take down Bears…
