Flat Rock fell to 0-9 for the second consecutive season last year and have lost 18 straight games. Brandon Reaume, who was an assistant for the Rams last season takes over as Head Coach after Tom Oestrike accepted the Athletic Director position at Dundee in November of 2014.
Flat Rock returns five starters on offense led by senior QB Justin Roberts and senior WR Jalen Smith. The Rams are still looking for someone to carry the ball this year, but junior Garrett Osborne appears to be the leader in camp at this point. The offensive line will be led seniors Jeff Jones and Carter Rice.
Defensively the Rams were improved in 2014 and that will have to be the case again if the Rams want to get into the win column this season. Sophomore Mason Hamilton looks to anchor the defensive line while juniors Zac Tennison and Cameron Stitt will play linebackers along with fellow junior Anthony Higginbotham at DB.
Flat Rock has loosened up the non-league portion of the schedule this season in hopes of getting a win outside of the rugged Huron League. The Rams will play Summit Academy (1-8) in the opener and Hazel Park (0-9) in week nine. The Rams need to get off to a good start in week one in order to have a successful campaign under their 1st year Head Coach. Prediction: 1-8
You've missed some defense of players but I'll then there game do the talking #dad
As a parent of a Flat Rock player, I was a fan of Coach O, but have been very impressed with Coach Reaume and his staff. While it won't be easy, the kids look very much improved at this early point in the season. Looking forward to August 28 and the start of the season.
