  1. Oh and CC DID get pushed around the field. Defense ran their chaos plays and freaked those CC boys out. I don't think they ever recovered from that. And when you have players like Larry Tripp,(watch out for him and remember that name) who ran over their defense, it doesn't matter who was missing from CC that night. Go Bucs!!

  2. In two years, Riverview will be unstoppable. When those JV boys are juniors and seniors, they will dominate this league. They have a lot of talent and even more heart. Can't wait!!

  3. Dont worry about smcc. They will be fine and so will cyo. Smcc was not pushed all over the field. They were missing their two stud lineman and View took advantage of that. Missing the center and right guard hurt them pretty bad but defensively they just did not tackle.

  4. What does Huron's "poor historical" record have to do with anything? Rome wasn't built in a day and yes it took 10 or so years to get it going and now it's where it needs to be. Their history got them to the present. Leave the history behind buddy.. unless you're that butt hurt fan whose team was rolled by the Chiefs.

  5. 9:40, I'm not sure what you want us to say. I comment a lot on Milan because that's the varsity team I watch. I comment some on Jefferson's JV because I've watched then several times. I comment on the opponents of those teams but always in the context of only having seen them one time that season.

I can't comment on the QB from Pinckney (is he the backup on varsity this year?) because I haven't seen him.

Sooo…Pinckney has a dynamic player in their system. Super. Who are you trying to convince with that and what are you looking for us HL supporters to say?

  6. CHRIS – Sounds like same logice for FR to get out of HL….

You said it best, smallest school in the KLAA. They have 1400 students and play some very very good football programs. Try playing Souh Lyon Plymouth, Brighton , Howell , Hartland and Grand Blanc in consecutive weeks. Those teams are a combined 25-11 right now. All of those schools have over 2000 kids except South Lyon. I wouldn't expect Pinckney to ever make the playoffs.

  7. This site is just fine. Very entertaining most of the time. It is a mix, some people with rah, rah stuff, some with facts, some with opinions. Most of us are not coaches or AD's or Journalists that have access or the time to look up some of the facts on here. For people that are just fans of the HL and want to give an opinion, its a great site.

I say stupid crap from time to time and on occasion something that may be worthwhile. I hear it, sure, but its what makes the site fun.

If somebody likes the Huron freshman team, I would like to hear about it or any other HL program.

  8. Chris, if what you say is true about predicting how well varsity will be in a few years CC may be in some trouble. With no fresh team and only about 22 JV soph and fresh combined, they were pushed all over the field last night. They have a few good athletes and a great system but unless the CYO can spit out some JV ready kids next year, the Falcons will be making the same excuses at the varsity level as the rest of the mediocre Huron League teams in years to come.

  9. This is nothing compared to mlive. Mlive has no filter. All comments are moderated here. It is mostly rah rah stuff here. Anything ripping the kids doesn't get through unless I miss it. Coaches are fair game because they are paid professionals, but I filter most of that as well.

  10. GI – Jefferson was a very entertaining game indeed. Teams went up and down the field in the first half. Jefferson's offense couldn't match the Red Devils thorugh the second half. GI made a key red zone stop on 4th down and the Bears were all but done at that point.

  11. This site is fun for the people that use it right, but worse then Mlive in my opinion. Too many players commenting and reading this crap from former players in the league who had no ability or parents with an axe to grind. Kids in the league having to read this crap is unfortunate.

  12. Their JV last year had a QB who would have been all-league in the HL as a Sophmore. Better than any scrambler I ever played against or saw in the HL.

Really. Better than Mitroka, Kanitz, McCormick, Hartwick.

Not sure why I even read this site. 95% of the people on here know nothing about football.

  13. You said it best, smallest school in the KLAA. They have 1400 students and play some very very good football programs. As for the freshmen football comment, you are clueless. You can tell early on whether players will be good down the road on varsity. Obviously work ethic and commitment make a difference, but 8 or 9 times out of 10 if you win down on freshman and JV you win on varsity. Who had the top 3 JV teams in the league last year? Riverview, SMCC and Huron. Who are the top 3 teams right now on varsity? SMCC, Huron and Riverview.

Ask any SMCC fan when they knew this varsity was going to be a good group. They will say freshmen year. I even had a couple of people tell me 4 years ago watch out for this group of 7th and 8th graders in the CYO. SMCC will be loaded.

Sorry folks, sometimes I get tired of the DB's that come on here.

    1. DBs huh? So that's why you deleted my post about Hurons poor historical record a few weeks ago, then posted a comment about how this is about the kids. You should follow your own rules. I know it's your forum but still should have integrity.

  14. Pinckney has made the playoffs 3 times in 50 years. They had their first good season last year in 15 years. One of the smallest schools in the KLAA and the bottom dweller in their league almost every year. And BTW it's Freshman football pal. Hilarious.

  15. Huron's freshmen class is pretty darn good. They only have two losses. They lost to Carlson and Edsel Ford. Edsel's freshmen team is undefeated. Huron throttled Dearborn Fordson's freshmen team back in week 3. The win over Pinckney was a nice win. The Jr. football program is most certainly helping.

  16. Huron Freshmen beat Pinckney!? As a former Huron grad and KLAA JV football coach, I cannot believe that. That school has the kind of talent you do not see in the Huron League. Either this is a really really good Huron Frosh class coming up or a really bad Frosh class for Pinckney. Their JV last year had a QB who would have been all-league in the HL as a Sophmore. Better than any scrambler I ever played against or saw in the HL.

  17. HURON SLEEPING GIANT? VARSITY,JV, & FROSH ALL HAVING OUTSTANDING YEARS. VAR & JV WITH ONE LOSS EACH. FROSH 2 LOSSES
