  1. Regarding post #1 about GI. Coaches need to…GI coaches don't NEED to do anything. Coach Bodner and his staff have done an excellent job at GI. I give Bodner a ton of credit. He definitely took his lumps early in his career but he came up with a style of play where the athletic ability and intelligence of his players is showcased. Support your kid and let Bodner and his staff do the coaching. If you haven't noticed….what they are doing is working.

    1. Bods is the man you can hate all you want. You're probably just mad we have a better coach than you. Chris is always hating on Bodner and loving on his boys kale flesh and "OC" last time I checked bods has more play appearances and wins then both of those two clowns. I'm just telling it like it is.

  2. CC is a good team. Way too early to talk State Championship. LCC is first task. LCC QB is same as last year. Good last year, better this year. I believe records are as follows….
    CC – 8-0
    Huron – 7-1
    Grosse Ile – 6-2
    Riverview – 5-3
    Milan – 4-4
Would be great to have 5 teams in dance.
Major change @ CC this year…Defense went from 4-4 to 3-4 with focus on passing teams and speed on edges.
Good luck to all Huron League teams this Friday….Win!

  3. Looks like this could be the year Giarmo gets his first state title. The only teams in D6 that could beat them would be JLC or Ithaca. EM

  4. Does nothing inspire you? Sheesh! You might want to read a book sometime. There are many inspiring quotes from Churchill. Or how about Lombardi? "Winning isn't everything, it's the ONLY thing". If you're still not fired up, oh well, I tried. Maybe Eminem is more your speed. What's the song from "8 Mile"? "Lose Yourself". Very inspiring!

  5. I have plenty of faith in the Falcons. I just believe in knowing your opponent. Just stating the facts. The thing that I'm not sure of is, did this Poljan kid starting QB for LCC last season?

    1. Yes he did. He got beat up pretty good and Windham got him with 2 pick 6's. He is a good QB and only a JR. Should be a great game!

  6. CC will be challenged but let's remember LCC can't score if their offense is on the side lines watching. CC will eat some time off the clock and strike when the opportunity is their. CC did a nice job last year on LCC's QB and this years secondary is much better than last years group.
    "Ye have little faith"

  7. CC's secondary is better than last years group. Plus the backs are a step faster. You can't score if your offense is watching from the side lines. CC beat LCC last year. Ye have little faith.. Go Falcons

  8. If you are not getting enough football this weekend, come see the CYO Championship tonight at 7:00pm at Navarre field.

  9. What kind of people do they think we are? Is it possible they do not realize that we shall never cease to persevere against them until they have been taught a lesson which they and the world will never forget?

    GO FALCONS!!

    1. So wrong on so many "things?" Assertions, conjectures, viewpoints, contentions — are these the "things" to which you are referring? What "things" am I so wrong about?

  10. Can someone tell me why Riverview changed their offense that had almost 40 points per game last year? It's no coincidence that you put up 49 points against cc one year and then get shut out the next. Just saying

  11. Milan has very little chance of getting in. Marshall, jeffeson, FR, airport and DCD are not quality wins whatsoever as far as playoff points. Zero shot. Not a put down, just telling the truth.

    1. I totally agree that they are not quality wins. I think DCD would help a little. The teams they play are pretty good, the teams that they beat are not so good. Not making excuses either, we didn't get the job done this year. But if we was to sneak in the playoffs I feel it would boost our efforts for next year. If we do get in that's great, if we don't , then we work to put ourselves in a better situation for next year.

  12. Well, I see Chris is back, because all of the vitriol and hate spewed by the Bear faithful has been removed from the site. It was kind of fun while it lasted though. The imaginations of some fans….(sigh). Huron League? Done. On to bigger and better things, hopefully. Lansing CC awaits, and this time Huron Leaguers, the team that SMCC will face truly has a GIANT on its' team. Tony Poljan, Lansing CC's QB, is reportedly is 6'7" and is being recruited by many SEC & Big 10 schools. It will be a true test of the Falcon defense. He not only throws for 200+ yards a game, he can run it for 200+ a game as well. I don't think any of us in the Huron League has seen such an imposing talent in a long while. So all of you haters, even you Bears fans, I'm sure will be watching with baited breath for the results of this one. Our boys better say their prayers and eat their vitamins, because this could be a tough match.
    GO FALCONS!!

    1. Hate from bear faithful. there is no hate CV is a good team. enjoy it falcon fan .Bear nation has had its day in sun and look forward. To the journey up. Mountain again Bears have players the future will be Bright keep head up Bear nation .CC you earned league title .good luck on playoffs.

  13. Some 5-4 teams will get in, but Milan has a 40.75 playoff point average. That is not very good compared to some other Class B teams that may end up 5-4. With that said, beat DCD in week 9 and you have a shot.

  14. Milan is sitting at 4-4 right now. We should be a 6-2 team right now but it is what it is. DCD is also a 4-4 team. My question is Chris, can Milan get in at 5-4 with a win next week. Looking at the teams there is going to be a 5-4 team in the playoffs. It would be nice to get a rematch against RV or Huron. I know we have a very long shot of getting in. Got to win against DCD first. Thoughts Chris?

  15. Was wondering if the site could post season standings? I know SMCC is undefeated but I think everyone else has at least 2 losses, right?

Assuming that, if every team wins their last non-league game who would be in playoffs? SMCC, Huron, GI & Riverview?

  16. I looks like GI righted some things after their two big shutout losses to Huron and SMCC in week 2 and 4.

I wasn't sure how many games they would even win after the Huron game. They did not look good that night, but to their credit they have rebounded well.

Sometimes a humbling moment can do wonders for a team. Good luck to the Red Devils in week 9 and beyond.

  17. GI is getting it together and showed it against Riverview. CC is the clear class of the league, but if replayed today I think the Huron game would be even. GI is not the same team that lost to them a few weeks ago.

Positives: Mitroka is running without obvious concern for his knee, and his arm looks great 80% of the time. Derek Judd is making plays on both sides of the ball. He's usually the smallest guy on the field, but is remarkably tough. I wish he would stop leaving his feet and jumping into defenders when he is tackled; it's a good way to get hurt. D line is playing really well now, though any team with size is a problem. Max Gillam and Robert Pugh have put together two stellar games. OL is getting good push, especially Gillam and Camilleri. Receiving corps are strong. Ziberi making plays at LB.

The concerning: Mitroka's 20% of passes. DL size. Best blocker is at center when he could be a weapon at guard. Gillam or Camilleri should get snaps at FB (GI does not have a FB position in its offense, but should). Coaches need to recognize the passing game needs to come first to soften up the box for the run.

Team can win a couple of playoff games, until they come up against a heavy and talented OL, which can mow them over.

    1. Take away the 42 seconds and Huron still didn't score in the 2nd half, nor did they stop SMCC. Get over it, you lost.
