Milan @ Huron

Milan (2-1) is coming off of a 34-0 win over Jefferson while Huron (2-1) lost at SMCC 40-7. Milan won last season’s contest 20-7 and have won 13 0f 14 since reentering the league back in 2000.

The Milan offense has sputtered a bit with turnovers and penalities, but sophomore RB Trace Lindeman continues to put up solid numbers on the ground. The defense pitched a shut out last week , but will have to be better when they travel to New Boston.

Huron was in the game against SMCC for nearly the entire first half before the wheels fell off last week. The lone bright spot offensively for the Chiefs was junior RB Jacob Fryer. Defensively, Huron will need to force Milan out of their comfort zone and to turn the ball over.

This should be a good game that could go either way. A win for either team gives each a legitimate shot at the playoffs. A loss for either may keep them out. Prediction: Huron 21 Milan 20

  1. This game will be decided upon the turnover battle and whether or not the opposing team can capitalize on it good luck to both teams

  2. I'm going to agree with bn on that since Milan will be hard pressed to defeat Country Day in week 9, while Huron ends the season with Dearborn Heights Annapolis. The Cougars have been blown out in each game this season and were already destroyed by Grosse Ile in the season opener 47-0.

  3. This has to be the real game of the week in this league, but only because it's being played at Huron. Huron has proven they can score and play defense when they want to. The only thing they haven't proven is that when they get down by a few touchdowns they can shake it off and come back. Milan and Huron look evenly matched on paper and by the way each team has played this year. Good luck to both teams and try to leave a few players standing for the rest of the season. This could be a pad cracking good contest because of each teams size and speed.

  4. I'm looking forward to this game quite a bit. You're right, Chris, in that this game could turn out to be a very pivotal one in both teams' seasons. With very tough contests against SMCC and Country Day still to come for Milan, they need to notch a win this Friday to stay on track for another trip to the playoffs.

  5. I think Milan is going to take it to Huron. Huron is overrated! The only reason anyone is talking about them this year is because of what they have done the previous two years. They haven't played a good game yet this year. Their two wins came against teams that they should beat, the one test they had they lost!

  6. These are the same people that said it's Hurons year. Said you would beat SMCC. Lol. So far Milan has not been man handled and stomped in the ground. They did compete the whole game. No turn overs and Milan wins by 14. Huron has a good team. They have to execute too. We will find out Friday night.

  7. I sincerely believe the "Blog Master" has called this one pretty close. Its also apparent that not having a JV team for a year catches up to you at some point, in this case Milan's turnovers and penalties are things they will improve upon. Great coaches, players and fans. They will catch their stride I am sure, but, Huron has some points to prove. Might be bad timing for Milan to play Huron.. Game of the week.

  9. "All depends on which team shows up for Milan. This should be a great game. I believe Milan will win. They played great last week against a bad team. Hopefully it carries over and they play another great game. Minus the penalties and turn overs. If they play great and have 4 or 5 turnovers, they lose. Really should be a great game. "

oddest post of the year.. you get my vote
