  1. Just havin' some nick-name fun…I thought the "Y" show was pretty clever?

Regardless, the "Y" show are some bad a** dwarfs then!!

Bring on the "selfish" Red Machine…I'll help you stir em up Chris, now you gotta go!

A finely tuned Red Machine Running on the island TOO!

  2. watch out for grosse ile this year, very powerful offense that looks like my senior year. the milan grosse ile game will be a close one, it comes down to who can finish the game and who wants it more.

  3. Looks like we are in store for one heck of a week 4 with Milan-GI and Airport-SMCC taking top billing. Airport-GI could be headed for a showdown in week 5, after last night anything is possible. EM

  4. Airport only beat Flat Rock 21-0 last year. Went on to man-handle Grosse Ile and the rest of the league. I'm sure last night was a wake up call for them. But in the same sense Flat Rock does not have a horrible team. They're not bad at all. Potcova rose to the occasion. Good to see when the running game isn't there they can go to passing. Airport is still the favorite in the league hands down! They might win the rest of there games by 1 point. Does how much or how little they win by matter?? They have a team of winners and leaders. The wind on that island must really be getting to SITOFN. Nothing he says makes sense. Or he's drinking too many pops before he posts!

No-Barber is not on the sidelines.

  5. Next week will be a nail biter. Someone's perfect record will fall. The Milan boys are on fire and want it bad. Go Big Reds!!

  6. Wow – Grosse Ile 21 SMCC 15

This win truly shows the league is wide open. Watched the Devils come back from a 0-15 score at the half. Like last year the Devils are out there to play the WHOLE game and they are not getting gassed by the end. They may be small compared to others, but team speed it up there all the way until the last play of the game. Seniors are coming out and showing that they can carry the team to a win week in and week out. O line looks good, Soph QB is doing his job (needs go give up the ball a little more- too many neg. yard plays) The D is key again to this years victories. We cannot wait until next week. Cant believe that we are 1/2 way to a playoff spot!

    Go Devils

  7. Talk about a wakeup call! Airport's offense was sloppy all night but the D saved it for them. They better get things corrected quick with CC and the Devils coming up. Congrats to the Devils on a nice comeback win. Milan looks to be for real. Looks like Jefferson finally woke up, nice one Bears. EM

  8. SITONIT,
Your asking AIR what they have? Didn't those HOGS shut you up last year, and the year before that, and…….Don't worry about AIR, just worry that you don't get flies in your cake!

  9. SMCC very well could lose another 4 or 5 games this year. They have some tough teams to deal with down the road. Some people may find "oddness" in this, but look who they have coming up. Airport, Milan, Riverview, Jefferson and whichever Flatrock team show up.

  10. God I love Football!!!

Remember Otter in Animal House…. "God this is GREAT"!! when he goes to Delta house party.

    Great Friday Night;
    1) GI , AIR, MILAN undefeated.
    2) FR pushes Air to the limit ..totally unexpected. FR WILL UPSET somebody, who will be the victim?
    3) Jeff wins shootout at OK corral against resurgent RiverRats…maybe not so resurgent…Jeff not Jiff??
    4) Milan rolls despite squalking …just goes to show the machine is not dead yet. Huron….what gives?
    5) SMCC is now 2 years outside looking in…not to worry JV cupboard is juicy. Coach G knows how to not rob Peter to pay Paul!!! Pay attention coach B!
    6) GI, AIR, MILAN on collision course….it don't get any better than this for HL football.

Be sure to get your tickets for some awesome HS HL football.

  11. ^5 Chris.. Cisco and Abe are just a bit outdated, but, with a win like that against the View, its great news for those kids in Bear Country. Islanders still gotta win against Airport before SITOFN's remarks become reputable.. LOL Kidding.. Smack talk at its best.. The Rams are getting better each week. Chickeral, Blosser and Noch (sp?) played great, just some missed opportunities is all. Chicker made some great runs and passes that were dropped. Score would of been 14-0 but, a Ram broken play on 4th and goal, and a 5 yard loss when the forward progress had stopped, NO WHISTLE, then a lateral to Chick was FR's only score. Great to see them getting better though. McCormicks punts were out of this world 3 punts on the 2 yard line. Potcova got to open it up a bit this week. Coach V has done well since taking over, and Goins as well with the play calling this week (getting better every week).

Its great to see competition in the league and it is wide open.

Looking forward to next weeks predictions, gonna be a tough week for everyone.

  12. You would be surprised as to how many teams with multiple state titles over the last few years run the wing T or fullhouse T. Does DCC, brother rice or TCSF ring a bell.? How about Hudson or Zealand west? I could go on. It's about talent and execution no matter what offense you run.

  13. We all have our theories, fun to read them. Truth is none of us have a clue. Great stuff, hopefully people from all the teams start chiming in, don't see much out of Milan and Huron.

Wing T too predictable, kids get hurt all the time because defense knows whats coming, spread it out, play like GI, thats what the rest of the state does, Abe Lincoln ran the wing T. Actually, I think he is still alive and coaching at Jefferson. LOL

  14. What is up with these teams? Watched flatrock 2 weeks in a row. I saw 2 different teams. Air has been just good enought to win for 3 weeks now. Hey kids, no more Barber excuses. GI is rollin. Milan…Jefferson…Wow League wide open.

  15. Just left Jefferson-Riverview game. Great game, 3 hours long. Not much defense, but proved very exciting. Jefferson played well, never gave up, got behind a few times and still prevailed.

Teams much more even in the league than this blog says. No clear cut favorite, everybody is beatable. Great to see, makes the Huron league that much more exciting.

SMCC sruggling with the back-up quarterback. No talk about that, Wilson been hurt since first game.

  16. The View not so good. Jefferson tore them up. Sandore over 250 yards and 5 TD's. Obviously Airport and SMCC not as good as you guys say. Both are beatable, especially if Airport had a hard time with the View.

    SMCC over rated.

GI team to beat with the real offense.

  17. I'm impressed with the GI offensive line. You typically dont see SMCC get pushed around that bad as they were in the second half. Nice job!

  18. OK Air what gives….must be to busy worrying about D1.

Just sayin'…nice job FR, I'm sure everyone in the tri-state area thought blow-out for sure for the AIRhogs. Lots of AIR in BLOWout!!!

    Whatcha got AIRplane???

  19. Great night of Huron League Football Action.. Wow.. Happy to see the Jefferson score. Flat Rock made it interesting. Milan??? Are they for real or what? Islanders proving they are not to be forgotten.. LOVE IT..

    Huron League Fan.

  20. GI undefeated; 21-15

DUDE's started slow (spotted the catholics 15) but won the game with a pick-6 to break the tie. D-line looked around too much to start but settled in later. CuddY, NellY, BrizY, TrombleY, McCartY all brought it.

O can grind yards with the best of em; NellY, BrizY, and MittY are a 3 way punch. Aired it out a little but lost momentum……..then back to the ground boys. O line is small but makes creases for the Y show.

#50 from SMCC is a stud… but got gassed late.

Good win(d) for the Island boys …National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for the entire listening area, Gale Warnings possible.
