I tried to put it in both ways with the 2009 team first then the 2001 and then switched the years around and both came back as a neutral field game with the same results.
this years team gave up 105 points… 09 they gave up 178 don't know how u can say better defense. again teams change through out the year so u can't say go back and play the 09 teams.. just doesn't make sense
this years airport team would have beat flushing because flushing is 3-6 this year… the teams you play 3 years ago change.. like u said the cc team isn't as good as they were in 09 but gross lie and river view are way better then they were in 09.. so teams change you can't use that argument

If this years airport team played the 09 smcc or flushing teams it would be atleast a three score differnce. the 09 airport team was no question much better, they were solid as every aspect of football. solid o-line, qb, rb, even good wideouts. and a better defense. this years huron league doesnt compare to that 09 or even last years HL.

The 2009 airport team in my opinion was better for airport…yes, the airport team this year has a better record but they didnt play flushing, didnt play the same caliber CC team, which were both of airports losses that year…airport will be fine, they cant play bad and win but they are more than capable of winning not only this game but whoever they play next…schumake has to run HARD, jones has to break a couple and potcova has to be accurate, they do that they can move the ball and win 2007 airport grad (and yes i played…both ways…but im gonna leave my name out so i can be anonymous like the rest of the people on here)
Gotta disagree with ya Chris, I really like the matchups for Airport and Riverview. Adrian has a bad defense and they are 0-4 vs teams with winning records. Johnson will pose some problems for the defense, but I doubt that will be enough. Riverview-Chelsea could go either way in my opinion. Two teams that rely on a solid running game and a strong defense, should be a good one. To 12:11 poster, 2009 had a better offense, this years team has a better defense and special teams for whatever its worth. EM
As compared to the 2009 Jets team, this years O-Line and Overall defense is a bit stronger. Hence Caleb and Justins ability to both average 100+ yards a game behind Sorenson and company. Even though this years QB (sophomore)is solid, Jones was alot better as a senior, and their passing attack was more consistent. X factor is how strong Airports defense is this year. Baker, Anson, McCormick, King, Atkins, French, & Lewis all are very strong and as very versatile to keep a strong QB or RB in check.
The 2009 loss to Chelsea was simply because of poor clock management in the last 3 minutes of the game, which allowed the win Chelsea in OT. I don't see that type of mistake under Barber.
I have seen Airport put down those "explosive" offenses a few times this year. If they continue to play D like they have they will be fine. Work hard this week.
Regional Final will be a very tough game for GI. Sexton or Pennfield will be the favorite. Winnable district however for the Red Devils.
Also a winnable REGION for either Riv or Airport. I dont see either team being outmanned to the point of not being in the game. Whoever plays better will win as I see it.
Watched the film…. The 300lb running back is just that. A slow 300lb running back. Wouldn't worry too much. If GI wins first game they have a good chance to make it to game 4 with only two of the teams in the upper bracket to worry about.
Adrian is explosive on offensive led by the talented quarterback seabass aka sebastien johnson, but the defense is pretty bad. Should be a good and interesting game friday.
Airport had a one dimensional backfield in 09. Maybe better D backs too. Special team play better in 11

[2009] Airport (Carleton, MI) 27, [2011] Airport (Carleton, MI) 22

Which team did you have as the home team? 2009 or 2011?
I did a projet a matchup on calpreps and this is what came up.

Wonder how Chelsea feels going from nice soft turf to what is left of what once resembled a football field at Riverview.
just because you have speed doesn't make you a better team
2009 Airport team had more speed. They were a better team.
Berkley Edwards is a solid RB for Chelsea, but nowhere near what he is hyped up to be. View shouldnt have too much trouble keeping him in check

the View better be ready the RB from Chelsea has BIG ties to U M !

Just a couple points to consider.
Back in 04 Riverview was 10-0 when they demolished 10-0 chelsea at chelsea. Hopefully this year will be the same
GO BUCS!
I heard Adrian's QB was hurt and out for the season. Either way, Airport wins this district!
I dont think Chelsea or Adrian are as good as recent years. They are beatable this year.
Question for the Jet faithful: How does this Airport team compare to the 2009 Airport team?
I have seen Airport put down those "explosive" offenses a few times this year. If they continue to play D like they have they will be fine. Work hard this week.
Go Jets!
Just excited to be in the playoffs…How great that all three Huron League teams get to play at home.

If Grosse Ile gets past their first game they will most likely play a team with a 300+ pound running back (Douglass). Defense better be ready!
GI will roll through this district.

Not a fan of the matchups for Airport or Riverview but GI may win a few games.
