I wouldnt mind that at all. It gets old hearing the same old whiners each and every year. I mean it's not enough that they play in a league where everyone is larger than them, some more than double(Airport-Milan-Riverview-Huron). However it is too much travel thus too much moolah. SMCC is here to stay folks.

I think what this individual is getting at is that this year's SMCC team lacks speed and is NOT the best team in the league this year. You could make a case that talent wise they are 5th in the league. However, they have been in all thier losses(minus Plymouth) in the 4th quarter. GI, Airport and view were all close games til the 4th. View and GI came down to the last play.
So in the poster's defense, SMCC has kept it close this year for the most part but just hasnt gotten the play it needed at the end. I think in part due to their ball control style of offense which shortens the game.
I think that is what he may have been getting at but 2-4 is 2-4 anyway you slice it.

Why do you care so much? Is it to simply call out SMCC and to argue with someone? I mean honestly, relax will you.
So SMCC scheduled an easy opponent for 2 years.. why get in an uproar about it? They have the toughest schedule for any D6 school year in and year out.
Why do you care about the playoffs? The team you root for is not in SMCC's division so what does it matter?

Very stupid comment. If your "SYSTEM" was working, without the need for talent, then explain why you are 2-4? I think its pretty safe to say that you dont know what your talking about.

Lack of talent on freshman team? Surely you jest. The Jv has 9 starting freshman and are 2-0 since they got moved up.
3 teams at 5-1…..pretty interesting at the top with AIR/GI/VIEW. No CC or Milan, things do change.

Great win for GI…the D showed some nice fortitude keeping the running tree trunk in check…he's a downhill bruiser, but not who should be getting the touches… see below. And they did this without one of their starting LB's (out for the year) to boot!!
GI O was hitting on all cylinders and proof positive that you can't key on Kish and win because GI can/should move the pigskin around….and they did. Mr. Kish becomes more dangerous the less he touches it???….I know, sounds crazy but think about it. Mr. White was crisp too.
Jeff QB has quicks, he should be running the ball more and was the best athlete on the field for Jeff…tip of the week.
GI JV is toying with the league right now…undefeated and ROLLING on everyone, you might just need to get a sump-pump back-up installed because the GI football storm is churnin'.

The kids that go to CC do. Kids look forward to going to CC and I would hope that kids that go to the public grade schools would have the same pride.
Boy it seems like things have changed this year in the league.
I know the league talent is down, and expected GI and Airport to be at or near the top. A few items that have raised a few eyebrows so far are.
Jefferson at the bottom of the pile. Have not seen that for many years.
Smcc at 2-4. Did they lose a few scholorships over there.
FR beating Jefferson and Milan for the first time in eons? FR is not even that good, but are mostly juniors this year.
Milan at 1-5, and down about 10-15 in numbers?
Huron, made the playoffs last year,People were thinking they were on the uprise?
The Lions 4-0?
MSU defeating OSU at the Shoe?
U of M at 5-0?
Must be the El Nino!!!!!
The only people who care about past league championships are the people who won them, people who are already graduated from that school, and the coaches.
Go ask CC's, or anyone elses, freshmen if they give a damn what year their school won the league. Past is past. These kids want to win in the present.
10 yrs ago the kids playing were in 2nd grade. Did you even care which high school you were going to go to in 2nd grade?
Chris, I can only assume that the Flat Rock posters are talking about my son. Yes, he leaves practice early twice a week to go to college, that is what my wife and I decided he should continue doing. His college was remodeling the science building which put all the classes to night classes, so he has no choice but to go at night.
What I can tell you is that my boy plays for his teammates. He might not like sitting out, but he will be there for them. He will always be there for the team, whether it's the first quarter or the last.
He's the epitome of the word teammate, without question and makes me proud to call him my son. Anyone who knows this player knows who I am and knows where to find me.
CC football will be on top again very soon, the talent is a few classes behind. Enjoy your wins this year, I will remind everyone to look at the dominance of CC over the past 10 years plus. Everyone can also stop by the gym and notice all the Huron League Championship banners hanging from the years past. Go Falcons!!
Why didn't Kanitz from Milan play this week? He had a lot of passing yards against Grosse Ille then gets benched. What happened?

Chris, the player was sharing duties the whole game. It wasn't after FR built up the lead. I don't think he started the game either but I'm not certain. He wasn't on the field when the Rams had the 1st and goal but he was on that last drive. And if I'm not mistaken they ran right behind him on that 4th and 1. Pruchnicki must have figured putting 6 more on the board wouldn't be a problem. Never easy victories for the Rams.
FR had a total of 130 yds and scored 21. Sounds like the defense played well but the offense needs some coaching. Alot of turnovers.
So they were up 21-0 then he decided to discipline a player for missing practice? Doesn't sound right to me. Either the player wasn't in when the lead was built or he needed a blow. Certainly wasn't discipline for missing practice.
it wasn't too long ago that flat rock beat 3 huron league opponents. 07 one of the best defenses in the league gave up the 2nd least points in league and had 3 shutouts? lost a 28-21 game to airport in the last 10 seconds. would have shut out gi also but had all backups in. they dont get too much credit, and if they would have had depth that year it could have been better. props to them and the view, showing that any team can usually suprise some of the "upper four" its the huron league!
I don't care about a kid that has to occasionally miss some practice time for home duties (especially in these days) I care about his ability to pancake defenders and clear the way for our backfield……that's the difference between a winning program and a losing one. Allow the best kids to play…1st and goal from the 5 to make it 28-0 would of buried milan, instead, a defensive stop swung momentum back to milan and allowed em back in game

Why do you care about cc and who they play so much. Your infactuation with Windsor is just strange.
Nice win for the Rams. I highly doubt that P is punishing anyone for that reason. Practice is practice. If a kid misses regularly he most likely is not on the team anymore and most certainly loses playing time. I understand the thinking but any excuse is a good one. I have a job, I have to study for a test, I have to watch my brother or sister. I'm taking a college class. Football like most anything worthwhile takes discipline and a commitment to your teammates.

Coach P goes into ultra conservative mode when he's up. Refused to go for the jugular with the ball on Milan's 30 at the end of the first half. In the 2nd half he called the game just like Jefferson, playing not to lose instead of playing to win. I heard he's also punishing one of his O line starters for going to college classes at night. Chickeral made a nice time out call on 4th and a foot when everyone knew it was a quaterback sneak coming…ended up changing the play and getting the first down to seal the W.
Chris, why don't you ever give your alma mater some credit? They walked into Milan's homecoming and walked out with the win.
there will be no 8-1 teams that play on the road vs a 9-0 team…. none will!
Just because you go 8-1 does not assure you host a game. It goes by the pt sytem and Airport has to hope Bedford and GI win out to build pts. Ending with Tecumseh will not help their pt total.

To 10:12 poster, league will get 3 teams for sure. In case you didn't know Airport, GI, and Riverview are all 5-1. Airport will host a game if they win out, if GI-View winner goes 8-1 they could host a game. Don't count out CC getting in if they go 5-4. EM

Nice win by the view. Small team but scrappy. QB throws a nice ball and plays very composed. To answer all the questions above, yes it was because of the cold, the wind, the refs and because we forgot to recruit. Will SMCC ever win again? Enjoy it now folks and I'm sure you will, as you should.

Again.. Airport under the radar. No news, chatter – another 2 sentance article in the Monroe paper. Probably best. Again, 3rd down conversions and hard hitting D was key – in the worse possible weather.
BTW my GI peeps said Airport was the better team. Why are we still hearing the excuses?
After last night it reaffirmed how down the league is. We are looking at 2-maybe 3 teams making the playoffs. With a good chance of no one hosting a game.
Oh yes CC does indeed make excuses. Scroll back and read them. Karma is slapping you right in the chops this year pal. Your 2-4! Yet if you read earlier posts, your buddies had every reason in the world why CC was going to dominate the league again. Sorry you don't feel special this year. Maybe after the Windsor Assumption game, you will. Your playoffs hopes are over!
Growing pains for Milan.
I was right that there were no woodsheds in Grosse Ile. SITOFN is not frowning today and the alligators and horses are safe on the GI kids shrits since non were knocked off by Jefferson last night.
What I saw was a Grosse Ile team that did not show up against airport. They were balanced and made adjustments through the whole game to take control from the get go. If Jefferson did not have Ryan Bosanac #44 It would of been a complete been a even longer night for the Bears. They were outmatched by the speed of the GI game. GI was able to let the 2nd's in for a good portion of the game.
Rob White, Alex Kish 2td, Jordan Nellenbach 2td and Brian Christen 2td kept you guessing where the ball was going all night long. GI had a great turn around from the last game played.
Great going GI.

Lol. Last time i checked smcc doesnt make any excuses when they lose. not very good this yr, ppl know it. All i know is that in my days i never had to blame anyone because we ran through the league undefeated.

Flat Rock was up 21-0 at the half. I was gonna leave cuz it was really cold and rainy and the rams were driving with about 5 mins left up 21-7 and a fumble happend. milan went down and scored that same drive cuz the fumble was on the rams 35 yard line. But Flat Rock got the ball back and ran out the clock. All in all the D looked ALOT better tonight and the O was good enough for a win. 2-4 Flat Rock Rams can they win out?

Amazing how big a difference one year makes!!! Teams like Milan and SMCC who were top teams a year ago are now fighting bottom feeders, while teams like GI show how good they really are!!! Entertaining to follow the league this year I do have to say… When was the last time Flat Rock won 2 league games in a season? Sounds like those sheep still gotta little kick in them

Huron came out on fire, forcing a 3 and out then going right down the field for a TD. After that it was the Caleb Shumake show and Airport's D took over. Curtis French is a playmaking machine, he has to be the leading candidate for Defensive POY, what do you think Chris? EM
