  1. why would you change the coach in flat rock?? no one is stupid enough to come into a school where they are the smallest public league school…he's dedicated and works his butt off..you could have mark dantonio at flat rock and he wouldn't win..you get what you get..who do you "Flat Rock" supporters want?? What and who?? I just don't get it?? Name me 1 GOOD, proven coach that would take over that program..i just dont see it..u should be blessed that you have pernicki

  2. WTG Bears…. Alumni and Bear Family members couldn't be prouder of Coaches and players. Big wins the last two weeks (SMCC and Bedford) of the season. I think this upset is definately one of the highlights for the Huron League history books (if there is such a thing).

Time for the torch to be passed to either Genoe or Pickens in Bear Country?? Regardless, what a great season ending.

Best of luck to the playoff bound teams from the Huron League. We could have 2 teams advancing this year (especially Airport & GI). Keep the faith fans. TAKE NO ONE LIGHTLY.

  3. Jefferson 7 Bedford 6 ??????
That has to be the absolute biggest upset in region history. Jefferson beat a large Claas A school that kicked Monroe High's ass?
Jefferson, a team that was beaten by Flat Rock?

    Amazing!!! Great job Bears!!!!!!

    Still can not believe it!

  4. Interested to see what Huron can do next season. Those JV boys could play. Huron and Grosse ile might just be play off bound

  5. I'm still here. I had a wildgame dinner on Friday that I was the chairperson for. Didn't get home until 1:30.

Yesterday was daughter's basketball game and a trip to East Lansing for the State game. I walked in at 2:45 this morning.

I'll have stars later tonight and thoughts and questions tomorrow along with playoff previews Wednesday.

  6. For all you "HL is down this year" chops….please splain this weeks results. I guess the whole state is in the crapper……NOT.

Chris you were right in the beginning…GI would paddle Dundee and THEY DID. I warned against a let-up and the boys delivered, BIG TIME. We did the same to Ida in the past couple years too.

Shout out to Jeff…I stand corrected when I said stick a fork in em', they made me eat that one twice, especially this week in a BIG way.

View and Air nice wins….good momentum into the playoffs for all HL reps.

FR ended good too, nice to see them on the mend.

Huron needed a positive and got it, good to build on for next year.

Milan…growing pains, but they will be back. I would check the JV staff though….the dirt should come from the field not the players.

SMCC…I'll bet they'll be in the hunt next year for sure, any barley pop wagers boys?

    Playoff time…strap it tight boys.

  7. Looks like Cisco still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Holding maybe the best offense in monroe/downriver area to six points is unbelievable. Here's hoping Airport, Riverview, and GI keep the momentum going into next week. EM

  8. Do you still report on Huron League teams when the Huron League portion of the season is over??
Not seeing any comments and results were on very late. Just wondered if your blog is pretty well over. Should take input on the Huron League teams' run through the playoffs.

  9. Great job Bears, awesome game.
Fought hard till end. Won on last play of the game.
Great boost for next year. We will see whether its with or without Cisco.
Great game, on any given day, you just never know who can win a game.

  10. Absolutely incredible game at Jefferson. Jefferson scored on the last play of the game and kicked the winning extra point with no time on the clock. Last play was a pass play no less. Great defense, both teams made several 4th down stops throughtout the game.
Very exciting, one of the best games I've seen this year. Hard to beat last weeks OT win against SMCC.
If they played this good all year, they would be in the playoffs.
Bedford had 75 kids on there team, Jefferson has 25. The kids playing both ways never let up, played hard the whole way, Bedford has a different kid for each play they run, lol.
    Go Bears! Nice Finish!
