  1. SMCC being scared lol, just wait til they break the news about who they are playin this year for the first game, lets just say, it will make MONROE big D1 school look they are the school with 400 along with all the other schools and they also played on the same turf in the 14th week as smcc.

  2. Hey since it was national signing day today can we get some information on where certain players have decided to play

  3. SMCC will open the season vs Division 1 runner-up Plymouth. This would have been a tough task for an experienced team, much less the young team of this coming season. Good luck staying within 4 touchdowns Falcons.

  4. Being a Riverview parent, I can't believe that they would do this. These kids work hard with fund raisers to raise money and you steal it from them. I hope this person has to repay all the money or sit in jail for a long time. It's not fair to the kids.

  5. I also think that a baseball and track blog is a good idea. You could get the blog trifecta Chris if you get that one going.

  6. Uh-oh, police are investigating embezzlement from the riverview football booster club. What a jerk. Whoever took the money is greedy. The money belongs to the program!

  7. Two automatic wins? Not this year buddy. As far as nobody wanting to play CC, then why did they turn down Inkster last year? Sure they wouldve got blown away, at least they can say it was against the best qb in the state.

  8. What about starting a Huron League Baseball/Track and Field blog? Might pick up some intrest and also would help follow some of these athletes into their other sports…

  9. Nobody wants to play SMCC. its hard for them to schedule anyone worth a darn. Maybe they can play airport twice. Two auto wins

  10. 2011 Huron League football schedules can be seen at michigan-football.com. I noticed SMCC has yet to schedule non league games, I guess Windsor School for the Blind isn't available for week 9 this year.

  11. Grosse Ile had one of the more dominant offenses in the state let alone just downriver…if GI didn't have such a horrible defense they probably would have steam rolled Huron….but their defense is no good…so the lost.

  12. No kidding you won't find players listed from those schools but 14 players from Fantasy Island? You only have 11 on offense so somebody had to be mentioned for defense. There is no way to justify this especially since Huron who crushed Grosse Isle and made the playoffs only had 7 kids listed.

  13. Grosse Ile was second only to SMCC in offense in the Huron League. I'll admit that they also had the WORST defense. All the love – as you say is all offensive players – no defensive players from GI made the list. Since this is a Downriver list you won't find names from Milan, SMCC, Jefferson or Airport on the list. Get It?

  14. Whats up with all the love for Grosse Isle in the News Herald? There were 14 players that received some sort of acolade from the paper. Didn't they have a losing record? Can someone please explain this to me?

  15. Nick Bemish of Riverview signed with Central Michigan. Guess thats a perk to having Coach Stergalas. He knows a lot of college coaches. Congrats to you Nick. You worked hard for it.

  16. What does everyone think about Jefferson next year? Does anyone think they can be the sleeper team and challenge for the league?
