WHere was all this Jefferson support last year?
I wanted to let people know this… Is it Jefferson/SMCC kids or is it the adults that have issues with one another? I'm told that the kids were talking in positive terms from both sides at the JV game last night….Hmmm makes you wonder…

Wow Chris – what has this blog gone to? I have always been an admirer of the hard work and class from SMCC. I'm very disappointed in the SMCC crowd these days! They have officially lowered themselves about three class levels and have now joined the ranks of three other teams in the Huron League – which I WON'T mention as I am trying to hold myself to a higher standard. Good luck to all of the teams in the Huron League this season!

The word "too"(used twice in the above paragraph) is used to describe excess or to mean also or as well. I think you mean to use the word "to" which has nearly 30 meanings and uses. So When you use the words "half a brain" you may want to check yourself at the door.

LOL…. they didnt have D6 in the 60's. You didnt see SMCC playing on TV last November? Speaking of D6 I am positive that Constantine, Montague, Nouvel, Blissfield, Hudson, TCSF, Mendon, Ravenna etc… would wipe the field with Jefferson every year. You will have your chance to see how hard a D6 school is to beat this Friday. I am a realist however and I know Jefferson will be tough this year. I just hope the game is well played and injury free. News bulletin- The Jefferson High School Library burnt down yesterday. There was $5.54 worth of damage. It would have been a lot worse but the coloring book was checked out.

Where do you people get your facts from? Jefferson doesn't have a winning record against CC. Since 1968 CC has won 28 and Jefferson 14 plus CC's 1 victory in playoffs. Does it matter? no. These two present teams are all that matter. Do some research (at least a little bit) you obviously have internet access look up some facts first. Friday night will give a school bragging rights for another year.
I am a CC fan, alum, former player, whatever… Let me please apologize for the 435 poster. We at CC do not think we are better then anyone else or that we should be handed wins as soon a we walk on the field of play. We respect all of our opponents. We know nobody is jealous of us or anything like that. That is just ridiculous. I am often embarrassed by what people put on here like the 435 guy. It is obvious to me that he is some juvenile with nothing better to do.
We at SMCC respect out rival Jefferson. When I played it was the only game we really wanted to win. It was one of our 5 team goals every year -Beat Jefferson- it hung in our locker room all year long. You live for games like this and the kids on the field this Friday will be lucky to be there. To play in one of the greatest rivalries in Monroe County and beyond.
May the teams play hard, play fair and may the team that plays the best, win. Good luck to The Falcons and the Bears as they meet up in another classic and respected battle in 2010.

Jefferson is D3 or D4, why would you want to play D6 playoffs? I hope the Bears make it and make some noise in the playoffs against their piers. D6 is for small schools with 400 students like SMCC.
Actually SMCC has one title. Monroe Catholic Central has the other.
SMCC has 2 state titles in football. 1969 and 1991. SMCC also has 3 state runner-ups 1984-2005-2009. Know what you speak of.

To the person who wrote about Jefferson having what CC doesn't. CC does have a State Championship, check your history in 1991 CC won it. I should add Flat Rock also has a Champioship in 1976. Airport fans are out of the banter, who do they even play this week? Last year it was them and smcc with all the talk. Jefferson is feeling strong with one win under their belts. Smcc is down but hopefully not out. There's a lot of season left.

Just because a team went to Ford Field doesnt make them a team to respect! The last time I checked Jefferson has a State Championship Title in their possession! Yes it may be from '94 but it is what it is! The '94 Bear team wasn't of large stature. But it was well discipline & we had talent & played with tremendous heart as do the boys of 2010. So win or lose CC we have something u dont have…..State Championship Title.

All this tal about CC losing to Crocket. First of all, they lost to them by two touchdowns, which isnt that big of a blowout. Not to mention Crockets, 6! players going D1 next year. I dont think anyone from the huron league is going D1. But yes they did play bad which should scare jefferson even more. They played a 3 out of 10 in that game and still had 28 points. wait till they play there best against a much worse Jefferson team. CC is going to come out flying this week after being lit up in practice. Just watch out! CC wins big, and go's undefeated in the huron league this year. Mays From AP was sick on the SL last week – big hit/flu/nerves ?? He'll should have a break out game against FR . Seems now AP can pass out of trouble if Mays is keyed on. AP's special teams was scarry bad last week. That will never be so bad again.

The CC rivilry is is always fun and its great to beat them. Every team in the league guns for them and I have to praise them for their results. We should be glad they are in our league. No one has yet earned the right to trash them – wait til you beat them. They played at Ford Field last year when everyone else was conditioning for winter sports. Jefferson crushes SMCC? Don't know about that but I sure do hope they win. SMCC is not soft but maybe a bit over confident. I believe CC lost last year to Crocket and look where they ended up. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT an SMCC fan. AT ALL! These two teams are a very good match. Though the Jefferson team this year is totally different. These are the boys who went 9-0 two years ago. Been watching HL football for years. Here's the scoop for this Friday:
– Jefferson fans on here are going to feel pretty silly after CC puts a smack down on them, 35-14.
– Grosse Ile could catch the Chiefs napping Friday night, 28-20.
– Flat Rock is still Flat Rock, Jets win 38-21.
– Milan is a MUCH better team at their place, why is that? Big Reds 21-8.

I don't normally respond to these blogs(although I do admit reading them) but as a Jefferson parent I too agree this is getting out of hand. There has always been a rivalry between Jefferson & CC but in the most part it has been clean & in the spirit of any sport. I'm not into trashing any team or school! I am into promoting school spirit! CC played a tough team & lost that doesn't mean they have no discipline it just means the other team was better prepared for the match up. As for Jefferson they to played a team with many returners & were much bigger than them & in the end won. So does that mean Jefferson will beat CC…I hope so…but utimately it depends on the team who shows up to play! Do I think the two teams are a good match up? Most definitely! I always look forward to these two teams playing against one another as do most. Something amazing happens when the two of them compete unlike any other team. It is a must see game that many almuni's attend even if they have no one but the school itself to cheer for. So I wish both teams Good Luck & may the best prepared team win! Go Bears! Oh & to answer Chris I'm sure they'll be a tailgating or two @ the navare field. Hope to see u there

im sick of jefferson people calling smcc players choir boys. all i know is my team put it to jefferson 21-0 a game that the score was nowhere close as it appeared. Stop hating on my boys, all you have to judge is the last time you played them and you did not win. has that much changed since last years team? besides the absence of a few proven players? they have a good team still
Well it's early in the season and it looks like this rivalry is heating up a bit
I personally think that it will be a good game that could go either way. I know when I was working on my pre-season picks that I had a certain team winning and I will not waiver. I will probably have that prediction Wednesday some time.
Will the be any tail gating going on at Navarre Field on Friday? I was considering writing about that at some point and if I remember correctly SMCC has done that as well as Jefferson. Maybe I can stop by take some pictures, get some quotes, eat some food:) and get busy on an article.
1. I think GI will pull one out against Huron this week. I am a big Robbie White fan and believe he will lead the Devils to a victory.
2. Aren't people being a little tough on SMCC? I didn't see the game, but they have been dominating the league for a few years now. I didn't think they would be as good this year from the start, but they will be a player in the league championship.
3. Milan vs. Riverview is the most intriguing game to me this week. Yes, that does mean bigger than CC/Jefferson. Milan has a big loss last season to avenge, and the Bucs have their first chance to show their alleged return to the upper echelon of the Huron League.
4. My biggest question is which sophmore quarterback will have the biggest week? After seeing Riverview play last week, I think that Milan may have to mix in the pass in order to get their offense ticking, so Jacob Hagemann may have to play well again for the Big Reds to win.
5. Didn't Jefferson have a very similar win over Tecumseh last season before going 4-5? Also their line is pretty small throughout from what I understand. So I still have questions about their legitimacy.

Being a parent of Jefferson I think some of these comments are amazing. I sure hope we come out on top on Friday and believe we can but to come on here and say we crush them etc…. may be a bit forward. We always play CC tough no matter what type of team we have. We do have a very special team this year I believe and I also believe they can go a long way. I just don't want to be known of the team that comes on here and starts trash talking. Let the boys do all the talking come Friday night. CC has had the success for the last several years and Jefferson has had nothing to talk about. I know we are all excited for the season but don't get ahead of ourselves and be the people on here that we have been laughing about in past years. It will be a great game on Friday and I believe the Bears will be on top at the end. Talk with your pads and play with your heart bears!
im not a CC fan, to tell you the truth i hate them (former airport player). but i have to say everyone around here is out of control. you dont bash a team because they lost thats not right. its not even like they lost to a bad team like erie mason (sorry) they lost to a good team. i just think its enough saying they are terrible and have no heart. lets get a life and not sit here and bash teenagers.

GI vs NBH may be the most telling game this week…..2 teams that had blow-out wins against questionable opponents in week 1. I think week 2 will produce a questionable opponent too….but who will it be?
It will be no accident that Huron is across the street from Michigan Memorial….GI will bury the hopes of Huron Gridiron resurgence.
GI does have a "D" and the Red Devils offense scores at will against whoever's across the line scrimmage.

i don't know about anyone else but this friday, cc vs jefferson, in my opinion will be the BIGGEST game of the huron league season
