Monroe County All Star Game

The Monroe County All Star game will be played at 7 pm this Friday June 18th at Bedford High School. Six of the eight Huron League schools will be represented and will play for the North All Stars along with members of Carlson.

The South team will be made up of players from Bedford, Monroe, Ida, Erie Mason, Dundee, Whiteford and Summerfield.

It will be interesting to see how certain players do in the all star game. I for one would like to see SMCC’s Mike Howey throw the ball a bit. It will also be interesting to see TJ Lovell and Tyler Weclowski as part of the same LB corp.

A match up I would like to see would be Flat Rock’s Joe Conner defending Summerfield’s Eric Cogan in the open field. I’m not sure how much passing we will see from the South but I have to imagine they will try and get the ball to the versatile Cogan.

If you want to catch a glimpse of the North All Stars they will be practicing all this week at New Boston Huron at 6 pm.

  1. RE:"Yeah your right it's not derogitory like you say. Just like all the SMCC talk everyday like we all don't know what's happening with the team so you have to repea it every five seconds. Whatever keep adding the countdown I'm sure the loser doesn't even play for a team, and if he does then I guess it's the only thing he has to look forward too bcuz that bench is gonna like it once them final countdown days are over!"

Why the attitude? Chill out a bit.

  2. All the schools represented have all or a portion of their school district in Monroe County. That is why Riverview and GI don't have anybody in the Monroe County All Star game.

  4. GI, Riverview not represented is a shame….understanding they are Wayne county.

Both schools have some all-star talent that would be interesting and entertaining.

  5. Cogan will not be playing in the Monroe All-Star game because he will be in East Lansing competing in the MHSFCA All-Star game on Saturday the 19th. Would have loved to see the matchup between him and Conner as well.

  6. RE:"The game should be interesting.
stop the countdown adding please Chris…its annoying"

-For one, I am pretty sure the countdown isnt adding.

-My opinion is if it pertains to football and isnt derogatory then it should be allowed.

    -LET THE COUNTDOWN LIVE!!!!

you people realy love to hate

  7. Riopelle from Airport will be playing, he had a good year. Def. faster than Weclowski, and hits pretty hard for his size.

  8. Anonymous is right, Lovell isn't playing. He had shoulder surgury sometime after hockey season. He played most of the football season with it hurt and the doctor said it couldn't get worse so go ahead and play hockey and have the surgury after the hockey season. I heard he was planning on going and being on the sidelines though. Anyways, should be a good game and good luck to all players!

  9. Tj lovell isnt participating in the all star game due to shoulder problems. So it looks like weclowski will have to anchor the linebacking core by himself

    Goodluck to all players!
