Is it Player of the Year or MVP? Isn’t there a difference?
Where will everyone sit at Friday’s SMCC/Blissfield game?
Mays, Teen, Wilson, all things being equal(team) who would you rather have?
Isn’t it common policy to take the easy points (FG) when forced in an OT game?
Is it me or is Riverview going to be tough next year?
Was Harper Woods faster than SMCC Friday?
Will Monroe now court Airport’s Redmond? Would Airport survive if he left?
Was Brad Bosman the best player most fans never heard of this year in the league?
Where will Huron’s Tyler Weclowski play college football?
Did Blissfield struggle Saturday or was Ecorse that good?
With numbers he had, I expect GI’s Jim Carmeron to make some All State lists.
Bishop was from Robichaud, not Lincoln, and had relatives who went to Airport. Wasn't farmed, Airport just kind of lucked out.
Freddie Bishop was not "farmed" from Inkster…he came to Airport from ypsi lincoln because he actually wanted to get noticed on a good team. Weclowski will not go D1…i see him playing at a smaller school such as Ferris.
if bosman would have been on a team with a better record I think we would have heard his name alot more often, like weclowski, lovell, mays, teen, etc…with him only being a junior and riverview looking to be a much better team next year we will probably hear alot more of him.
Not-a-hater is a hater, or commonly known as a hyopocrite.
Thanks HLF for calling him out…must be Rustayo's brother.
case in point "other WR with more stats"??? Who….Jerry Rice?
SITOFN
When redmond was at MCC/SMCC he taught the option… does he still teach that at all at Airport?
Redmond is not going to leave. I played this year, and he said last year and this year, he has no intention of leaving to Monroe. he made Airport what it is now, and when he retires the other coaches will step up, hopefully Goins or Coach V.
Brad Bosman heard the name at some games this year, but why the best player we never heard about Chris?
Freddie was his real name, but anyone who knows the kid knows his name is Tre.
Weclowski dose not have a D1 built. But his football days are far from over.He wii play D2 for sure and maybe a small D1 as a DB.And if Weclowski & Bishop where the same size i would take Weclowski.Smarter, faster, and hits a lot harder. But freddie dose have that D1 size Weclowski will never have. But by your post you must have never came off the bench.(hater)
You mean Freddie Bishop great player.Played at airport but was farmed out of inkster.
Bye, bye, Rustayo. itâs been nice having you affiliated with Airport. Redmond has 3-4 times been courted by Monroe to become their coach, hell; he lives damn near across the street from the school. If Monroe will come up with a teaching position for him itâs all over, heâs gone. The chance to play class A ball in a good league like the SEC where all the teams are talented, he could really shine as a coach. Having said that, can Monroe come up with a teaching position in this economy where all of the school districts are losing students as well as money from the state? I say if Redmond doesnât leave in the next 2 years he will retire within 5 from Airport.
riverview is going to be very good next year they had a scrimage last tuesday against allen park who had a 8-1 jv team and riverview handled them
Ok Really??? can we come back to earth… Yes Weclowski can tackle kids from the Huron League… Cincy… MAC school??? Does anybody remember Tre Bishop… Absolute animal and the only one in a very long time with the body to go D1… He went to Western a MAC school… weclowski isnt even close to his level let alone half of his level… Weclowski good job in huron league but your football career is over just like every other kid.
Weclowski,Teen,Lovell and the middle of the CC Oline should be considered for States
How would Phil Howard get all those recruits from Detroit to Huron? That's a loooong drive to pick them all up and get them that far…
In the last 6 years, the two playoffs games at Blissfield against SMCC, tons of people sat on the grass at the Saturday game and for the Friday night game, about the same amount of people stood around the fence. This time it's Blissfield's turn to find a seat.
just the linreman from smcc.
not even Lovell,Howey, Labeau, Pannone,.
Burkdart should. b ut there has to be sombody else
With all his abilities Weclowski will not play D1 football. Cinci? whoever brought that up is drinking the kool-aid. The types of players that play at the big time D1 college level are a completely different animal than what the HL is used to seeing. I would like to see him at maybe a GVSU type program.
Huronleaguefootball, Will you post All-district,All-region,and All-state lists if you get them?
There are a lot of questions out there. I will try and answer a few.
I think Weclowski plays D III maybe DII but it depends on his speed. I don't know his 40 time. He will most likely be a OLB in DIII or a strong safety if he goes DII.
All State list usually come out after the finals some time. You will have the AP, Free Press and Detroit News teams. I think some Huron League guys will make all state but how many will depend on how they break it down. If they go eight divisions you may see more.
I think Cameron has good stats. I think some of the lineman from SMCC have a shot. I think Bosman and Weclowski may get some accolades. Other than that you never really know.
I think there are numerous kids that will play DIII ball next year. A couple may go DII. I thought I heard Joe Conner was visiting Northwood soon.
I can first off promise that Redmond will not go to Monroe, they have given him quite extensive offers before and he's turned them all down. Redmond will retire before he leaves Airport, I know his character and dedication. If Airport let him get away to Monroe, I would disown myself from the school, because we won't recover. Another issue is if he went to Monroe a lot of the coaches would follow there with him, there is a lot of camaraderie in the coaching staff. No matter what you say about him and Airport, 11 straight playoffs and 6 league championships state how good they are.
I don't know why we have to keep the All Huron League thing an issue, the best teams best players won, and there isn't anything truly wrong with that. Sure there have been better picks, but SMCC won the league, and that can't be denied.
Let's not look to next year right away, there are still some interesting developments that'll happen throughout the rest of this year. Lets make up a random scenario. When Phil Howard steps down from Melvindale, does anyone think someone will take a risk on him? I personally say yes, the question is who will do so. I propose Huron takes a risk and finally gets a coach who despite what just happened knows his stuff. Just think about that and wonder.
which players from the huron league can you see playing college ball?
chris when does the all state lists come out and where do you find them?
TJ LOVELL
I would like to congratulate you on DPOY and a great season.Good luck in the playoffs keep the HURON LEAGUE alive.
I agree weclowski would be a good fit for cincy or the mac. He good even move to safety if he had to, he is the best defensive player to come out of th huron league in years.
There is always the possibility that some unknown guy comes in a builds on the success of the past decade at Airport.
I doubt Redmond is going anywhere, but I doubt that Vanwashenova would be the next coach there.
Rick Grant would be my in house favorite to take the job, but I seriously doubt an in house guy takes the job.
Where will everyone sit at Friday's SMCC/Blissfield game?
đ Better go to Cabela's and get a 14 or 16 foot tripod or ladder stand if you want to see anything…….if you are planning on getting there after 6 pm, thats the way I see it.
How do you know of cameron's work ethic?
the big hang up with Monroe and Redmond is a teaching position. Is that ready to happen? He wanted some sort of sports science class or football basket weaving 101 or something like that. Airports new AD is dumb enough to let Redmond go, too. Vanwashonova is a good coach and could step in at Airport, there might be little more intensity. Which coaches would leave with Redmond? Reed for sure, Hall? I think Grant would stay, Whitehouse would stayâŠ. Redmond might be ready to retire also, there has been talk of that for a couple of years around Airport, the last time Monroe and him went round and round might have been the last.
Chris, do you see anyone in the Huron League getting an All-State award?
GI wasn't terrible. They were 5-4.
Cameron's numbers were this: 43 receptions 633 yards and 9 touchdowns. Those are impressive numbers.
Is it Player of the Year or MVP? Isn't there a difference? âI donât understand the problem with who âTHE COACHESâ voted for. Every coach votes for someone not on their team, soooooo, more than one coach voted for the kids that won, both good picks, leave this subject alone.â
Where will everyone sit at Friday's SMCC/Blissfield game? âItâs bring your own chair niteâ
Mays, Teen, Wilson, all things being equal(team) who would you rather have? â1) Teen â 2) Wilson â 3) Mayes. Mayes is a selfish, itâs all about me, let me pad my stats, I want more playing time kid. Maybe next year he will realize itâs all about the team. He wonât have such a good offensive line and he will struggle.â
Isn't it common policy to take the easy points (FG) when forced in an OT game? âAhmen. The only thingâs I can think of is â put pressure on Chelsea by getting the TD â Airports defense was playing pretty good, give them the chance to finish it â Jones already missed 1 FG kicking with the wind earlier in the game.â
Is it me or is Riverview going to be tough next year? âYou bet, good coaches taking a good program to the next level, good things to comeâ
Was Harper Woods faster than SMCC Friday? âThey both looked slow on a slow field. SMCC better not play like that again.â
Will Monroe now court Airport's Redmond? Would Airport survive if he left? âI wouldnât court Redmond, he gets outcoached when the talent is equal and Monroe has good talent equal to a lot of teams in the SEC which would mean a loss in those games. Airport could turn the program over to Vanwashanova and it would continue just fine.â
Was Brad Bosman the best player most fans never heard of this year in the league? âWHO?… yes, good playerâ
Where will Huron's Tyler Weclowski play college football? âMAC team possibly, would be a good fit for Cincy, not big enough or strong enough for a big name team. Great speed which can make up for other issues, good heart, great hitter.â
Did Blissfield struggle Saturday or was Ecorse that good? âEcorse is the next Melvindale, a good team and program heading in the next directionâŠ. UP!â
With numbers he had, I expect GI's Jim Carmeron to make some All State lists. âNo, played for a terrible team. Good player and may deserve it but there are other WRâs with more stats.â
yea word on the street is monroe will offer redmond quite an offer to coach this year so we'll see…also heard he may just retire so airport may be in trouble next year
cameron has good hands but wont be able to make it to the next level..hes very slow and has a terrible work ethic…great highschool player and the best gi has had in a while
