Week 2 Wrap Up

Grosse Ile made some waves this week when they took Jefferson to the brink on Thursday. It looks as if the Red Devils are better than many thought, including me. They play at their rival this week in a game that could determine the direction of heir season.

Flat Rock fell to 0-2 this week and wins look like they will be hard to come by. The loss to Milan was closer than many expected but it looks like the Rams will have a hard time scoring points this year.

Riverview
played well this week against SMCC but still fell to 0-2 on the season. The Pirates must beat their rival this week or the season will become really long really quick.

Milan moved to 2-0 on the season with a good defensive effort against Flat Rock. Milan will find out where they stand when they visit Airport this week. The Big Reds will have to be able to score because Airport’s offense is likely to put up a big number.

Huron
dropped to 1-1 after losing a shootout with Airport this week. Scoring 26 points on the Jets is no easy task. The Chiefs visit Jefferson this week and must shore up their defense if they hope to come away with a win.

Jefferson escaped with a win on the Island this week. Grosse Ile was able to expose the Bears a bit with their speed. Look for Cisco to attack Huron’s weak run defense this Friday.

Airport was impressive offensively against Huron this week. Their team speed is impressive. They need to get better defensively if they plan on winning the league.

SMCC did what they had to do against upstart Riverview this week. The Falcons ran the ball effectively against the Pirates. The Falcons visit Flat Rock this week and should be able to run the ball again.

I was a cool 4-0 this past week in my predictions and moved to 9-3 on the young season. This week should be a little harder. Look for my weekly predictions coming up later on this week.

  1. Great site, great commentary by the host, great participants, no flaming (although a hot pepper or 2 thrown in now and then), great football fans for a great league.

Keep it up, no need to defend yourself… you're the author. If people don't like it, tough banana's. We appreciate that you allow all sides….it's clear that this site is not "cheering" for someone/something other than the success/fun of HL football.
    Strap it up tight boys.

  2. Kudos to you for having this site and also attending ANY games. Its this type of blog that gets our teams AND THE players the attention, and its great to banter back and forth. THANKS FOR THE TAKING THE TIME TO Highlight the Best Region in the State. GOOOOO HURON LEAGUE, AIRPORT & JEFFERSON….

  3. Looks like this is a letter to the editor. So here is my response.

How do you suggest I see more than one game per week? Should I just beam myself between different games? I rely on people who were at the game just like the newspapers do. They give me as much info as they have. I have to rely on many sources just like every writer or blogger has to do.

I do this as a service for Huron League fans. I try and get info out as early as possible on Friday night. By the way, I have over 650 visitors a day. If you don't like what I have to say then don't read it.:)

  4. I will provide JV scores if people get them to me on Thursday night or Friday morning. Last week I only received 1 JV score so I chose not to post. I'll give people what they want but I need a little help on JV scores.

  5. To the person who called me an idiot because he thought Redmond didnt coach at MCC/SMCC…. he coached there from 79-86 under Joe Sandersen. I should know since I played under him during those years. Know your Huron league history before you spout off.

  6. Any chance on getting the JV scores for the families that are following them? It would be nice to just have a post of all of the scores and standings and no need to talk about the predictions or wrap ups…

    Thanks
