wow, you said the same thing. all i was stating was that smcc killed everyone last year as freshman, including airport and jefferson. i thought those would be close games but they weren't. i also stated that they lost their first game to dearborn. it's the same kids playing against each other again this year. unless airport has moved up some awesome freshman. i don't know if they have. i am not not trying to put airport down. they have a fine program and their jv has a great record. if you can explain to me why this year would be different i will gladly accept it!
hear this out: there are a few comments on this blog on another article that state that airport's varsity has pretty much the same team back along with smcc this year so the outcome will be the same. how is the jv game any different? smcc jv is playin the same airport jv team this year as they did last year as freshman. so why should the outcome be any different?
Everyone is talking about GI and SMCC, What about the Airport JV vs SMCC JV that game is going to be good! Airport's Defense is not going to fall for any of those ball fakes that SMCC does. Airport has been destorying teams left and right that beat Milan JV 22-7 and Jefferson JV 50 somthing to 14, AIRPORT WILL WIN!

i have to agree with you on the last comment. airport jv is good. i know it is a different year but smcc beat airport pretty easily last year as freshman. airport has been destroying people left and right, that is true. smcc has had its share of blow out games as well this year..beat GI 22-8…NB Huron 47-32…Flat rock 52-14…rivewview 15-0…and then lost to dearborn 19-0 the first game of the year. all of their wins are by 2 TD's or more. should be a good game. you can say that for all levels this week for smcc/airport..airport and smcc freshman teams this year have impressive records too! ohh by the way smcc's freshman team last year went 8-1 with the loss coming to dearborn and they pretty much beat everyone by 2 TD's or more.

KUDOS TO SMCC PLAYERS AND COACHING STAFF for their win over GI last night. A well organized, prepared program all around. GI not quite working to their potential last night. GI JV Devils are now 4-1 for the season. Great improvement over last few years but GI still has much work to do at both JV and Varsity levels.
GI was flat on offense for sure. Defense had great stops and was hitting hard all game…but the dreaded big play was the nemisis, mostly on pass plays.
Credit to SMCC discipline and game planning for sure.
This is 2 games in a row where GI finally decided to play in the second half…not good enough to win consistently in the HL.
O Line needs to strap it up!!
SMCC did not see the real GI offense yesterday. If it was there it would have been a better game to watch. GI came out flat with what looked like it was less effort than the scrimmage we had with Erie Mason. We did not have the same intensity as usual. We had very few bright spots on the O line without much passing production and very little blocking on the line so we couldn’t move the ball on the ground or air. Hats off to SMCC on their hide the ball offense and solid defensive performance. When you don’t play as a team you come up on bottom. GI remember just because you won 4 in a row the next game isn’t a given and they just get tougher from here on out
What the heck is going on in Riverview?! I know they only won 1 game last year but they are winless this year and I actually saw their JV play twice last year and they were pretty decent (I think 5-4 or 4-5). The games I saw were a win against Airport and a close loss to Jefferson. I know the varsity ran that silly offense but I'm pretty sure the JV games I saw they ran some power I and did pretty well with it? I think their freshmen were ok too. And please don't tell me, it's gonna take time. People were talking (kind of like GI weathermen w/their "winds of change") how Stergalis was gonna be the "savior" but program seems to be floundering on all levels. He had entire off season w/weight program, etc to at least start to turn things around. This program is less than a shell of its former self. Yes they played SMCC tough, but lost to bad Crestwood team, lost to rival GI, and lost to a bad Flat Rock team. I feel bad for the kids as they are the victims in all that the board, administration, and some unruly parents have created. You reap what you sow. Who will be next after Stergalis goes 2-16 over 2 years?

Airport JV beat Riverview 40 to 14, Airport JV is for real this year! SMCC and Airport JV game is going to be good it should be a low scoring game but Airport JV is 4-1 so is SMCC, but when it ends Airport JV will win 21 to 14

how does smcc's JV team look? they are now 4-1 with the loss coming to dearborn high school the first game of the year and they just beat an undefeated GI JV team..sounds like GI JV has some talent this year
