  1. cc only hung around with crocket because they run a spread and couldnt get their offense going in the rain. once rain stopped cc was put back in its place. good effort tho.

  2. and its funny because they almost always beat them! no change this year either! But its alright, talk up your mighty jets, they are so good!! SMCC is going to get crushed. Crockett is 10x the team you are airport. if cc plays like they did against crockett, it wont really be close at all

  3. You are right CC is not in Airport's class… Airport is class A(the only class A school in the HL) and CC is class C(the only class C school in the HL). Thanks for pointing that out.

  4. I hate stats because they don't measure heart and teamwork and most importantly DEFENSE (except for tackles which are grossly inaccurate). And in High school most stats are typically wrong anyway…untrained people without binoc's listening to the announcer.

ANYWAY….one stat that we all should should pay attention to is turnovers. Really a great stat because it measures both Defensive tenacity and Offensive discipline. It would be nice to see the give/take ratio of all the HL teams this year. I'm thinking there is one team that may have gone from worst last year to first this year…..winds of change are blowin' in the HL!!!

  5. CCFalcon, your Falcons aren't even in the same class as Airport this year. But if you sleep better at night by talking smack, LOL, go for it.

Actually SMCC will have a hard enough time against Huron, Jefferson, and GI…

Great competition in the HL this year.

  6. GUYS, It is what it is at Jefferson. Been the same forever. Cisco is a great coach, and maximizes the talent based on HIS offensive philosophy. It is difficult to watch, since its hard smashmouth type of football. BUT, its apparent that he makes it easy for the competition to defend. In addition, the conditioning of the Jefferson o-Line is amongst the best in the state year after year, and they never receive the accolades. The focus always seems to be on the "skill positions", I KNOW, I HATE THAT TERM TOO, but let me say, that Jefferson does need to losen up on offense, but, Cisco is one of the most successful coaches, and brings great pride & tradition to the Alumni and Parents.

Redmond and some of the other HL coaches are definately raising the bar. Jefferson Staff has great leadership and an incredible football IQ. 2-1 is pretty darn good at this point in the season.

  7. Seriously people… use some spaces when you type a book in the comments so we can at least read you ideas.

Paragraphs were not invented on accident.

  8. …."Making statements without knowing facts is irresponsible and makes a person appear to be stupid…" …."What type of representation as a parent are you making?" …you ASSUMED I am a parent of this team and your ASSUMPTION is WRONG! I realize games are won and lost as a team; and it is an offensive and defensive game. I also realize that Jefferson never has appropriately utilized its talent! It wasn't my intentions to put any of the individuals down but only pointing out that Jefferson has extrodianary talent on their team which isn't being fully utilized in my opinion! No-one said Oley doesn't have 100% heart or Sharkus didn't get the opportunity to run the ball or Sterling wasn't a great kicker or McCullough wasn't the mule of the team or even Morrow or Jennings doesn't have speed! I was just mentioning a select few just as this blog or even the paper for that matter of individuals does when they state the "stars of the night" they don't mention the rest of the teams individual accomplishments! By the way I do know the stats, I didn't mention them because that wasn't the point I was trying to get across! If Cisco is so great then why have they only won 1 state championship in 40 years? I know because they don't know how to utilize their talent! That is my point and my opinion so before you make assumptions to whos blogging maybe you should get your facts straight! It is about these teenagers not politics and who you know and who "kisses up" to whom! Oh and by the way I never said the defense didn't make mistakes but as you personally said and I quote" Huron's game was lost by Jefferson's Defense as a Team" I beg to differ it was lost as a whole offensively mistakes were made an interception a fumble as well as defensively! Again in my opinion a coaches mistake! Just to let you know speaking in a coaches perspective!

  9. Please check your stats before you make comments. Jefferson's running game was diversified. As I recall your fullback got the ball four/five times in the first half, which questioned a lot of fans for Cisco is known for his fullback plays. The sweep plays to the 1/2 backs were not working or not many yards were gained -check your stats with Cisco specifically as you will see. Also how many yards did your Sharkus (1/2 back) have total through out the game – almost 100. I'd say he did quite well. Lastly, how many pass compared to completions were satisfied. 7/16 for 67 yards and 36 of the yards were to your McCullough (fullback). Who typically takes the passes – the 1/2 backs?
Don't get me wrong this is a TEAM sport. The game is WON by the TEAM not your "hidden" talent, but the TALENT OF THE TEAM.
Sterling is an awesome player awesome kicker, and will be utilized more next year as your qb – wait and see.
Morrow and Jennings are fast – they will be utilized as such too.
Oley is all heart, gives 100% all the time and it shows on the field from the stands. He is excellent on offense as a QB and excellent with tackles on defense.
Sharkus – is utilized now, and is NOT LEFT OUT AS you may think. He is a very valuable asset to the team. He is 100% valuable.
McCullough is used as what a fullback is used for in football – as the horse/mule to get the ball to the end zone. This is Jefferson's way, Cisco's way, and any running team uses a fullback as such – even Airport. The fullback is used to draw the defense in and then use the 1/2 back's to the outside or to pass. This is even done in reverse.
Lastly, making statements without knowing facts is irresponsible and makes a person appear to be stupid.
Just remember this is not an offensive team alone. Jefferson's Defense needs some work when the offense goes up the middle every time with ease and as it is stated in the paper by Huron who is more known to pass, "… it was working so we kept it going…"
Huron's game was lost by Jefferson's Defense as a TEAM. Remember when a person puts down the team as a whole beginning with naming the coach and players specifically (who are teenagers) what type of representation as a parent are you making? I am assuming you are a “hidden treasure” parent and should be ashamed because the entire team wins and the entire team loses – not just your fullback, quarterback, “hidden treasure” coaches, linemen, linebackers, ½ back’s, etc.

  10. Jefferson may be down but I assure you they are by far not out by any means! I personally have been following these group of individuals and this team most definetly has alot of talent many of which hasn't even been mentioned or the opportunity to shine! What I see as Jefferson's problem is the mixing of two groups the seniors and juniors both of which had outstanding Jv years. The Jv 07-08 went 7-2; and the Jv 08-09 went 9-0. Politics have always came to play with any school and ofcourse Jefferson isn't excluded. The juniors have always played with heart and are a tight group of individuals; the seniors excluding a small group of individuals just play the game with talent alone. Now we all know with this type of game you must have talent, skill of the game and most of all extrodinary heart, (never giving up; never giving in when your down). Jefferson's (coaches)problem is they're afraid of change. They stick to what they think works, yet all the other teams have changed to win games. It's not all about the fullback pushing thru the hole for example airport uses their halfbacks to run up the score as well as there passing game. Jefferson has many talented halfbacks (Morrow, Sharkus, Jennings) but hasn't even utilized most of them on their offense as well as 2 outstanding quarterbacks (Oley & Sterling) both of which can throw the ball. Many say Jefferson has an inexperienced Varsity team because they had only a small group of returners; I beg to differ. I realize varsity is a different level of the game but this team is by far not lacking experience or talent; they're lacking direction! Once they shake things up and throw the politics out Jefferson will be a team to reckon with! If they want to continue the running game then they need to open it up not to just their fullback; McCullough (who I must say is extremely talented)but to their halfbacks. Get with the program when you only give the ball to a select few the other teams cue in on these individuals when you open it up the others won't know who to cue in on! I could understand sticking with just these few if Jefferson didn't have other individuals who could do just as good if not better but they do! So I again say Jefferson may be down but definetly not out If the coaches get with the program, drop the politics and utilize all the talent they have! The first 3 games were sloppy in my opinion; they could easily be 0-3; but they showed their heart in the 1st two games and not the coaches abilities of coaching. In my opinion until the coaches play the right personal; not necessarily the best 11 players, but the 11 players who have the best team chemistry Jefferson will not be successful! Huron is a muched improved team but bad coaching lost the game for Jefferson, again this is only my opinion!
