Here are the nominees for the Week 3 Player of the Week. There were numerous great performances around the FNV area, but these are the ones we chose. Go to our Twitter account @FNVictors to vote.
Cole Giesege, RB, Whiteford. Giesege is likely to be a regular in these posts. The senior turned in 210 rushing yards and five touchdowns as Whiteford defeated Adrian Madison 58-32.
Nik Hammond, RB, Airport. Despite losing 33-26 to SMCC, Hammond gave the Falcons fits, as he rang up 235 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries.
Owen Sampson, RB, Ida. The Blue Streaks turned to their senior star in hard fought rivalry game with Dundee. Sampson rushed for 166 yards and two scores as Ida prevailed 16-15 in another classic chapter of the “Backyard Brawl.”
Tristin Panza, RB, Monroe. Panza would rush for 118 yards and two scores, catch a 63-yard touchdown pass, and return a punt 42 yards for a score as Monroe routed Ann Arbor Skyline 57-14.
That 20 from Riverview is having a hell of a season. I believe he’s got at least 8 touchdowns.
Can we get an offensive or defensive lineman up for the award once?
Some guys had killer games on D And I’ve watched Oline guys take over with no mention on here
Sorry, it’s just the nature of the beast. Very rarely do you see offensive lineman or defensive lineman up for awards like this. However, we have done that on our site in the past. I don’t see too many other places ever doing that.
I think we forget that Riverview although they have three running backs at once still have individuals who put up amazing games worthy of being a player of the week.
