  1. Running game will be fine if the line does its job. Bernard and the 2 juniors moving up are more than capable of handling the load. EM

  2. Airport hasn't had a QB coach in a few years – or a passing strategy other than 3rd and 7! And they do not develop receivers. Who is McCormick going to throw to? Air only threw 12 times a game with a competent duo last year. Running game is as questionable as last year. If no one steps up then its a long season for the Jets.

  3. Best player you've never heard of: Airport TE Quentin Dunbar. Good run blocker and possibly McCormick's favorite target. EM

  4. Best offensive player: Mitroka or how about one of those Riverview RB.
Best player no ones heard about-not sure.
Best defensive player: It could be Camileri-my son played for Woodhaven in the djfl and it seemed that kid made every tackle.

  5. Best Offensive Player: tough call between McCormick, Kanitz, and Mitroka

Best Defensive Player: Austin Hoover from Milan

Best Player Most Never Heard Of: CJ Duffiney, CB from Milan

  6. Can Airport keep the playoff streak alive?
    – If 5 wins makes it than yes. that 6th win is gonna be tough.

If you had to start a team from Huron League players I wonder who the first pick would be?
-GI QB without a doubt. Best athlete in the league and he's only a junior so I get him for 2 years.

Can Milan make me look foolish again?
-All depends. If they can keep their heads and keep it clean like last year they will be good. Most likely the spoiler for GI or CC. If they go back to the way they played before it will be a mess.

Seems like Huron has the talent to make the playoffs.
-I sure hope so. I think it would be great if the top of the league is not Airport, CC or Milan.

    Grosse Ile or SMCC?
GI. I think they can outscore CC. Whoever scores more wins so……..

Can Riverview reverse their fortunes from last season?
-No. I will see as many of their games as I can to see the RBs. They are SO fast. Should be a highlight show every week. But I just dont think Stergalis has a clue what he is doing anymore. He had talent the last few years and hasnt done much with it.

Will my Alma Mater win a game? I sure hope so!
-Yes. Richard sucks and Stockridge doesnt seem very tough.

    The spread at Jefferson?
-I hear it's going to be the same ol same ol with a bit of what is coming…… the spread! As long as it is different I will be happy.

How many league teams get in the playoffs?
    GI, CC, Huron, Milan, Air

Will this be SMCC's year or are they one year away from a trip to Ford Field?
-I think they have the talent to go to Ford Field but it all depends on their draw. There are 2 teams they can not beat for sure. If they dont see them until the "Dome" then they have a good shot.

Can Mitroka and Grosse Ile have a better year than last?
-Mitroka… Yes, he will be much better than last year. GI should be about the same as a team. They will go deep in the playoffs if their draw is favorable.

Will Airport's Scott McCormick surprise the league at QB?
-Depends on what you mean by surprise. If you mean people will be surprised he hasnt been the QB the last 2 years than yes. It will be a surprise. I still have no clue what the coaches were thinking.

Who is the better back at Riverview, Josh Smith or Marcus Samuels?
    -Samuels.

Who the heck will play QB at Huron? Flat Rock?
    -No clue.

Watch out for a great year from Jefferson's Elijah Sandore.
    -Ok

    No freshman team at SMCC?
-GI has been that way for years. It happens

Best offensive player in the league?
    -Scotty Mac and Mitroka

Best defensive player in the league?
    -Camillarri and Kinatz

Best player most have never heard of?
    -McCormick at QB

  7. Riverview should be better. They have more than 6 seniors on the team this year.

Interesting that with the exception of a couple games last year they could score. Their biggest deficit was the defense. Yet the OC took the fall while the HC was the one responsible for the D.

But the truth is they have the skill players, the big question mark is the line.

  8. To refute and agree at the same time, in order to be called good or great, you have had to put up great stats at some point. Or how else would they know to run away from you.

  9. Best player to start a team with: McCormick from Airport

Best offensive player: Mitroka from GI

Best defensive player: Kanitz from Milan

Best player you never heard of: Carrabino from SMCC

  10. Best Offensive player Robert Kanitz
    Best Defensive Player Robert Kanitz
Best player most have never heard of Cj Duffiney

  11. The freshman team at Smcc is combined with the jv team this year due to small numbers. They seems to be more girls in those classes then boys.

  12. League stats very rarely are a true indication of a players importance to a team. Or how much that player had a impact on a game. Remember stats are only as accurate as the person taking them wants them to be. Also certain really good defensive players will impact a game but have very little stats after to show. Because you don't typically continue to run towards another teams strength.

  13. Airport will make the playoffs. Milan will finish middle of the pack. Huron has talent, but will miss playoffs. I give CC the edge over GI at home. Riverview will turn it around if they play defense. GI and Mitroka wil have a solid year. McCormick will have a real good year at QB. I say Flat Rock wins 2 games. Sandore is a beast that can go the distance anytime. Best offensive player is Mitroka, best defensive player is McCormick. EM

  14. Ford Field?! Let's let them win a game first. The goal is always to win the league as it should be for all. Ford Field is never on anyone's mind until it is.

    -BN!!! 😉

  15. No, Airport will not make the playoffs

Milan is to me, the big question. I think not this year.

Seems like Huron has the talent to make the playoffs. YES

Grosse Ile or SMCC? SMCC: playing at home is huge advantage, Loss of key players at GI might be hard to fill so early in season.

Can Riverview reverse their fortunes from last season? ???

Will my Alma Mater win a game? I sure hope so! Good coach, nice kids, I think 2 wins.

The spread at Jefferson? Yes, at least in some fashion.

Will this be SMCC's year or are they one year away from a trip to Ford Field? Yes, more likely this year than next.

Can Mitroka and Grosse Ile have a better year than last? Hmm, while they may be better, so is everyone else. If they beat SMCC, then Yes.

Will Airport's Scott McCormick surprise the league at QB? Yes, a talented kid.

Who is the better back at Riverview, Josh Smith or Marcus Samuels? Wow, I would have to go with Samuels, but watching track, Smith, Samuels, Mitroka all about the same speed, they beat each other in running.

Watch out for a great year from Jefferson's Elijah Sandore. Good, will follow.

No freshman team at SMCC? Not such a bad move.

Best offensive player in the league? Mitroka: GI (See League Stats)

Best defensive player in the league? Mccarty:GI (see league Stats)

Best player most have never heard of? Lako:smcc Glimes:Riverview, Ziberi:GI

*As a former DJFL GI parent, I only know the GI, Riverview, Trenton kids well enough to comment.
