Trace has been a huge suprise for Milan, and has done a great job. Let's give credit to Milans offensive linemen that make those holes along with Jake Friese and Chad Hall. Justin Coville, Chris Stanley, and Cody Vance they all make a great team!
Lets put it this way, Riverview hasn't seen any teams as quick as Melvindale. They are more athletic than Riverview, good luck covering them by the way. I have a feeling the Riverview db's are going to be doing a lot of chasing on Friday……….chasing the Melvindale players as they waltz in for another Cardinal's score that is.
@5:51 poster. Really. All the work on this blog and that is what you post. The blog author knows his stuff. Melvindale does have recruiters regularly visit their practices. This is no disrespect to the View. Hold your horses.
Obviously that 5:51 post went right over your head. First of all, the response wasnt to Chris, it was to the 4:41 poster. Espn is notorious for calling black players "athletic", while white players are "high-motor". And now the thinly veiled racism has seeped down to a high school football forum.
I don't see Rouge stopping the CC offense, they played a very week schedule. I don't know if Riverview can stop the Melvindale athletes but they should be able to score some points. Milan will beat Thurston in a close game.
Hey Chris, do you know anything about the KLAA? I wonder if the Bedford Westland Glenn game will be a good one to go to.
It's not going to matter. You have to win to get to Ford field. Eventually you will play a team that has some advantages over you. If you can man fine some 3rd and long and just force a few punts then you have a chance. Don't be afraid to open up the offense. You should still stick to what got you to the play offs, but you have to take chances. I believe Milan and Riverview will both do that. I think Milan can go deeper in the play offs, and the view will have to work harder on defense. Both teams need great defensive play. Go Big Reds!
I think Milan's confidence is sky high right now. That was a great Lincoln defense they faced.
I'm not sure how SMCC will do in D-5, but I think they'll handle AAGR.
Unless Riverview drastically improves their defense in 4 days (which they won't), they won't get past Melvindale. Their game plan should be to score on every possession.
Is football a game of match ups? That is what I thought. This isn't your typical Thurston team. They are down a little but are on a win streak. Did I say I see Milan winning? Yep!
Melvindale is a team that is scary. I know little bit about them. College coaches visit their practices pretty often. They have an excellent QB. A receiver with D1 offers and loads of team speed. Riverview will not stop them. Their "D held Wyandotte to 17 points. The Dotte scored 40 or more on everyone this season. The Truman game for Melvindale was a match up problem. Truman runs the straight T and could match Melvindale's speed with size and speed. With that said Riverview's team speed will pose problems for Melvindale.
Not an easy road for any of the Huron League Teams. I think this will be a tough test for our Big Reds but they will get it done. SMCC should go to the regional, the view might be one and done. I would like to see Milan and the view again. Good luck to all 3.

Samuels biggest asset is his power. He is rather upright but is very powerful. Smith is shifty shifty shifty. They are tough to deal with.

How do you know that? I would be willing to bet that Riverview has the two fastest guys on the field. Why would you bring race up?
For what it is worth I picked Melvindale to score 44 points in this game. Riverview couldn't stop my grandma off tackle or my sister on a fly route.

Don't bring race into it.

I wouldn't waste my time. John Glenn lost to the two best teams on their schedule and lost a stinker to 3-6 Hartland.
Go see Northville and Catholic Central at Northville.

Do you write for espn? Melvindale has "athletes"? Riverview does not?

Good Luck to all of them!
Redford had some "good losses". They played a tough schedule… TRUST ME, Milan will not handle Redford. The game will be tight

OK, SMCC does not play AAGR. The play River Rouge.

I like Milan and CC to advance, i believe Riverview got a bad draw. Riverview's gonna have to play some defense to stand a chance. EM
I see. Any good QB+WR combo could give any HL team issues.
One or two long pass plays and it gets hard.
What is the strength of the leagues those teams are from?
So you think not having more than one major win against good teams does not mean much?
I think Milan's confidence is sky high right now. That was a great Lincoln defense they faced.

I hardly think Thurston is very tough draw for Milan.
Am I missing something?
All season they have only beaten one team with a winning record.
Their last three opponents had a COMBINED 8 wins on the season.
Thurston's only "signature win" was against Belleville, who was beaten by Lincoln.
Same thing is true for Melvindale.
They only have one win over a team that had a winning record.
Their big win was the first game of the season against Allen Park.
Other than that they only beat teams with losing records.
If SMCC can get by AAGR they will win that Regional. I think they will beat Gabriel Richard in the second round.
Milan got a tough draw. Thurston is playing pretty well but I see Milan winning.
As for Riverview it depends which Melvindale team shows up.

Tough draws for all 3 OUCH!

Chris out of which Huron league team do you think will go the farthest?
