Grosse Ile @ Jefferson

Grosse Ile (4-2) is coming off of a 34-14 victory over Airport While Jefferson (1-5) fell to Huron 38-14. The Red Devils won last years game 20-12 and have won three in a row in the yearly series.

Grosse Ile came to life last week and throttled a solid Airport team. The offense seems to be clicking both through the air and on the ground. The defense seems to be playing better, but depth continues to be a problem.

Jefferson is still throwing the ball around everywhere, but looked like they were able run the ball at times last week. The defense has been giving up too many points and needs to find a way to stop somebody.

Jefferson looks like they’re improving, but Grosse Ile is looking like a team that nobody is going to want to play. Prediction: Grosse Ile 34 Jefferson 14

  1. Jefferson has improved since first game. O-line is doing well.
Paddy, Friar, Dalfonso getting it done.

If D line can read some plays and get more early tackles instead of relying on the safety, it could be a very close game.

Jefferson has improved there weaknesses each week, this week was the D-line. I am confident message is clear.

    Bears 28- GI 24

  2. Bears have improved, even though they did lose to Huron. Since our first game we have made strides. Most of you have not seen all our games, so you have no idea.

The ones that have are with me.
The Bears do handle the pass rush very well and have improved their ground game. I hear GI has improved very much as well. With that being said, I think it will be very close and being homecoming at Jefferson, maybe that will be the decider. Either way, it should be a good and exciting night.

    Bears 30, GI 28

    GO BEARS!!

  3. Honestly, Jefferson could end up losing this one by 60+. A score somewhere in the 70-0 range would not surprise me. Jefferson is overmatched across the board… again.

  4. I think that this will be the biggest game that Jefferson will have for the rest of the season. So believe me when I say that the bears will give it their all! GO BEARS!

  5. I would be cautious GI. Throwing the ball against a secondary that can stay tight on your receivers and int. at will might be detrimental . If Paddy and his D line come to play Friday night – watch out.

  6. I find it funny how when the bears play a decent game against an opponent that everybody thought they would get blown out by they just got lucky. But on another not the if the bears can run it up the middle like last week and stop the rushing attack it should be upset city… People might not of noticed but Jefferson has the best pass rush in Huron league( Maybe behind CC) but I think the bears win it on coaching and take home a homecoming victory G.I. – 26 Jefferson – 34

  7. Last week should have been closer against huron.. The Bears got big plays called back and started the game horrible with a huron kick return

  8. GI can go to the air, they have a solid running game, and their defense is firing on all cylinders. I saw GI do something that I haven't seen this season. They played like a team. There is a serious storm brewing on this island. I'm sorry but it's blowing down into Monroe. This is going to be a blow out 35-7 Grosse Ile.

  9. They lost by 24 to huron how can you say they looked great. That word is used way to much on this blog. GI 34 Bears 28

  10. If the Jefferson staff comes to play and they use all of their tools and their talent there is no reason they cannot bring home a win. The team looked great against a good Huron team. The play calling was better , more talent was on the field and the defense came to play. They are certainly improving , although too late in my opinion but they have the potential to deliver an upset.

  11. Come on 50-0 again. From what i hear G.I Offense is hot they might score a ton of points but Jeff will too this week. This offense is going to explode. if it doesnt have its highest total of the year I'll retire from this blog !! Could see 40-30 just not sure what way that will go flip a coin

  12. It's not going to be one of those blowout type games. Jefferson has the potential to defeat Grosse Ile. As I recall Jefferson scored 2 td's against Huron and Grosse Ile scored none. So you never know what could happen. But I do know it will not be 50-6.

  13. I believe that this will be a great game to watch. It's Jefferson's homecoming game and they are going to show GI that it isn't going to be that easy. This could go either way, GI and Jefferson have had their ups and downs, I think this will be a close game. But I believe that the bears will pull this off and celebrate homecoming with a win. GO BEARS! GI 21 Bears 28
