  1. I love the haters going to the Huron game and then ripping the Chiefs for style points. That said, I also doubt that Huron players themselves fed off of the haters in the stands rooting for Avondale–that's just stuff that gets the fans in the stands riled up.

Huron survived Week 1 with a win and the coaches have plenty of points of emphasis to hammer the players on in practices. I'm sure, like most teams, they will get sharper throughout the season. Give me a "bad" win over a good loss any day.

  2. Does anyone have an actual state line on Huron's McKay? Hopefully I spelled that right. Curious as to what his numbers finished out at.

  3. Auburn Hills is where Avondale is at. They are usually decent with good athletes. They were much better this year. They play in the OAA. They have about 1000 students. Part of the district is in Pontiac.

  4. #22 from Airport JV had 2 punt returns for TD. He was the difference. Jets have a nice group coming up. Game could have been 40-6;but Airport was working on spread game

    1. The difference was Airport was just all around better. Score was 32-6 when back ups came in to play D. Got a little sloppy from there but they'll get better. 2nd and 3rd string will probably see a lot of 3rd and 4th quarter action.

  5. Where is Avondale? They must be a decent program considering Huron's JV team lost. From what I know Huron has a good JV team this year as well.

  6. New boston looked really good running the ball. The defense looked real strong. I think a few adjustments in the passing game and new boston has a really good year

  7. Huron ran the ball well, passing game was very iffy. Their defense played well. A few turnovers and a blocked field goal made the game close, Avondale had a few great athletes that made some plays. Interesting to see how Huron plays against airport next week, a lot of blood in the water between the 2 teams

  8. It's about X's and O's. Why make excuses? We were way better. And should of won big Chris. Just glad we got the win. Was on the edge of my seat

  9. I found out tonight how Huron would be without Hartwick……tons of talent without a game breaker and coaching is really suspect.

  10. I think a shout out should go to all of the Flat Rock, Grosse Ile and Riverview players sitting in Avondale's bleachers cheering on Avondale. They got Huron's crowd fired up for the final defensive stand. Nice win Chiefs.

  11. The only reason the game was close was because they were very well coached. Their first TD was an offensive adjustment. They made adjustments at halftime and dominated the 3 rd qtr. Huron was the better team, but fortunate to win.

  12. Watched the game as a Huron league fan. New Boaton was much better than that team in my opinion. Like 3 scores better. Interested to here the thoughts of people who watched the game. Play calling??????? Really interested to see next weeks game. Huron has some talent. Not so sure about everything else

  13. Huron is the only school in the league with a freshmen team this year. To their credit since they bumped up to Class A this season, they are playing a Class A Freshmen schedule

  14. Huron only school with freshmen team? Riverview? Amazing how many varsities, not just HL, that are in 20s for roster size.
